wait what? surely I'm reading that wrong, that's almost as bad as Gibson/Kennedy/Crouse for Spencer Howard.
didn't say it was perfect but Muller is the Braves #1 prospect unlike Howard who was what 2 or 3 seasons away from being the Phillies #1 when made that bad trade

I believe I would.
I think it is to early. Would father wait a year before making prospect trades to see if they are going to pan out. Plenty of time to make trades before we reach contention.

The Red Sox insulted Devers with a $168M/8 year offer ($20.8M) and they won't make Bogaerts an offer until they have to do it. Henry hired Bloom to pare down the amount of money that is being spent and to keep interest. Trading just those two will get them at 3 top prospects ready for the bigs.

The Red Sox ownership throughout history has ripped out the hearts of fans. Just look at their most recent boondogle. Would you have traded Mookie Betts or paid him? If they were willing to trade one of the top three players in baseball for a fungo bat and a beach ball, what makes you think that Devers isn't gone by August 2, at 4:00 PM?

Anything and everything is possible. Just stating what the talk is.

All I’m saying is that when you are trading for or away prospects the odds of them turning out to be an every day player is about 20%, nothing more, nothing less…
But that is the same whether you keep them or trade them away.

I just want to know if Skubal throws a screwball. If so, then we have to find a way to get him here.

Yeah I know that's the point, doesn't make any difference if you trade for, trade away or stand pat odds are about 20% that person will become a regular big leaguer...

Yeah, I get that only a small percentage become regular big leaguers. I just didn't understand it in conjunction with my remark.

I was just remarking how we might see a log jam now, but after trades there won't be nearly as many of those guys available to fit in.

I definitely get that only the small percentage will amount to much in the big leagues. That is why it is wise to accumulate as many good prospects as you can. It is also why it is imperative that the front office is able to know which to keep and which to trade.

There is no reason why the Rangers have to trade for a pitcher any time soon.

And the point was you're probably not going to miss them...
