The Eagles beat the Pats in the SB.
Like I said stranger things have happened.
Stranger things have happened isn't a qualifier to make the Patriots a better contending team than the other options though.

Jeff Hostetler, Stan Humphries, Niel O'Donnell, Chris Chandler, Brad Johnson, Rex Grossman and Rich Gannon all say hold our beer. QBs that aren't/weren't much better in many a years as Cam say hold our collective beers. He is a past MVP, but he's long removed by that at this point. He is completely washed physically which is no surprise given the physical nature of the way he plays and the damage he has taken over the years.
And I think Mac Jones can be good in NE and will be starting over Cam before long. But the Patriots aren't winning or even getting close to the Super Bowl with a rookie Mac Jones.
We're talking about a future HOFr who may be traded to a contender. He's mentioned his desire to play with Cam. I've provided the facts of where NE has improved. You need to look at who can fit him under the cap. Who has the draft capital or trade options.Stranger things have happened isn't a qualifier to make the Patriots a better contending team than the other options though.
Cam didn’t manage to throw a TD to a wide receiver last year. We're talking about a future HOFr who may be traded to a contender. He's mentioned his desire to play with Cam. All you've done is say NE can't get to the SB with either of Cam or Jones. I showed you a list of QBs who made it to the SB. There overall body of work were no better than Cams. Jones is TBD.
Try to stay focused.
We're not talking just one year. You can't take Cams one year against the careers of these other QBs. Bottom line they all played meh for a majority of their careers. But in some cases had a good year and a good team that got them to a SB.Cam didn’t manage to throw a TD to a wide receiver last year.
I don’t see the guys you listed being that inept.
Good Cam is gone. He’s a shell of his former self. Not much sense in discussing what he once was. He is what he is now. We're not talking just one year. Cam likely had more rushing TDs last year than those QBs. Not going to look it up. We know Cam was terrible, the WRs for NE sucked. They had no TEs to speak of.
Cam has supposedly fixed his mechanics and already has a much better set of offensive weapons to start the season.
We don't know for sure what Cam is? Last year it didn't take a QB whisperer to figure out his mechanics were off. He was terrible and had little to work with.Good Cam is gone. He’s a shell of his former self. Not much sense in discussing what he once was. He is what he is now.
He is a guy on a one year deal, for a team that drafted a QB in the first round. We don't know for sure what Cam is? Last year it didn't take a QB whisperer to figure out his mechanics were off. He was terrible and had little to work with.

Can't believe I'm defending Cam.

No doubt. But all we need is one decent year. He doesn't even need to be really good. Assuming he even gets the nod from BB as the starter? This team on paper is more talented then we're used to. The division is improved as well but I'm thinking NE surprises a lot of people. He is a guy on a one year deal, for a team that drafted a QB in the first round.
The clock is ticking.
Gannon had ONE MVP season. Cam doesn't need to have an MVP season. He only needs a decent year with this team.Rich Gannon had a MVP season.
Also for the other guys there were dominant defenses. Patriots don't have a defense near that level.
Cam Newton is a shell of his former self. He is a really terrible QB right now.
I think NE will be tough again too.No doubt. But all we need is one decent year. He doesn't even need to be really good. Assuming he even gets the nod from BB as the starter? Yet you continue to only post your opinion. I think you slept thru FAs and the draft.Fact is, the other teams mentioned are in a better position to contend this season than the Patriots. You're in denial about where the Patriots stand right now in this post-Brady era.
You're not going to get an arguement from me. I hope Mac Jones is the real deal. I've never been a fan of Cam. But I'm more optomistic going into this year then I was last year. If Cam continues his woeful throwing ways it's going to be a run, run, run heavy offense. Until BB pulls the trigger on Jones.I think NE will be tough again too.
But I don’t think Cam starts most of the games.
Really want to see how Henry and Smith are utilized. Loved that they added both.
Gannon had ONE MVP season. Cam doesn't need to have an MVP season. He only needs a decent year with this team.
Have you been sleeping? NE will have one of the best Ds in the league. Book it.
We've already said Cam isn't the same player he was in 2015. He may not be what he was in 2020 either.
This is a vastly improved offense. Lots more receiving weapons. Two TEs who can block and catch. A rookie bruising RB behind that Oline. Even without JJ this team are days ahead of last season.
If Cam gets the start, and his passing continues to suffer watchout for heavy doses of RPOs. Teams will get worn out come the 3rd and 4th qtr with this line up.
Yet you continue to only post your opinion. I think you slept thru FAs and the draft.
That was meant to be, he could/should be better than 2020. None of us know. Pretty difficult for him to be worse and still the starter after week four.If Cam isn't even what he was in 2020 then the hell are you smoking thinking the Patriots are anything close to a contender?
The Patriots will be battling it out with the Dolphins as the second best team in the division. They are on the outside looking in for the playoff picture.
You're still sleeping. You're way over valuing your team and their acquisitions. The Patriots are a mid-level team.
Is he accusing someone else of overvaluing their team? YowzaYou're still sleeping.
