Really looking forward to this one, particularly following the bye. Hopefully the team used the extra week to figure out solutions to some of the problems that have plagued the offense. If not, then I guess I merely hope that we run the record to 7-0.

Packers defense looks pretty tough, but their offense hasn't been as good as recent seasons. Rodgers is still Rodgers, but I think he really misses Jordy Nelson. Going to be tough, but it's definitely a winnable game, especially at home.

A defensive battle for sure. Who would have thought that back in week 1. The Packers have the #1 defense in points allowed per game at 16.8 and the Broncos are #2 at 17 points allowed per game.

It will be interesting to see how this game unfolds.

I hate that they include Pick-6's as part of the defensive points given up. Manning's Pick-6's this year has added 3.5 points per game to that stat alone.

Anyway yeah I agree who would have thought this would be a game maybe more about the defenses than it is about the star QB's. Very glad this one is in Denver otherwise I would never give the Broncos a chance to win this game. Because it is in Denver though I do give them a slight edge. Players have talked in the past that the Altitude is a bit more of an adjustment than they thought it would be. Top QB's have struggled some in the past to play at the altitude. Hoping maybe that is the case for Rodgers.

One thing that is kinda funny... all the talk about the altitude effecting visiting teams has actually been the opposite over the last few yrs or so. Seemed more like Denver players were getting more gassed in 2nd half than their opponents. This yr seems much better as a least our guys ( D especially) are looking real strong up until final whistle.

The depth on defense is honestly just ridiculous this year. I mean look at the fact that we lose Ware for a game and his replacement comes in and has a career game. On the DL what many thought would maybe be the weakness of the defense has shown that even beyond our starters the guys who come in are impact guys in both the run and pass game. Then you look into our secondary and our 3rd Corner would be a #1 corner on at least a few teams. At safety we now have 3 guys who could all be starting and having impact seasons. It is just down right impressive the depth this team has. Hopefully injuries don't deplete that any time soon.

As for this game just a cool little stat...This is only the 4th time in NFL history that 2 teams 6-0 or better have faced off at this point in the season. This is the 2nd time this has happened for Manning.

Yeah, obviously were all looking forward to this game but also believe this team is really pumped up as this matchup will be a real " measuring stick " for them to see how they stack up vs a bonifide SB contender. I think they'll be very fired up and want to make a statement and prove to the rest of the league, etc that they belong there as well. Going to be a battle for sure and the offense is going to have to play their best game to date if they want to come out with a W.

What I am looking forward to is the OL having everybody back. Kubiak said that every one of them was a full go today. He still hasn't said that Sambrailo is back to full health but did say that if he is healthy and ready to go that he would be the starter at LT. I'm interested to see what the team does line up wise with all these guys healthy. Schofield has done much better at the RT spot than many expected. I would have a hard time taking him out with the way he has played in my opinion.

Yes Sir. I think the key in this game for the offense is going to be 1st and 2nd down. If the guys up front can help the rbs pick up 3-4 yds and get into manageable 3rd down situations, they can keep the GB D off balance and will have better chance at converting 3rd downs. If Denver is continually facing third and longs all night that D and Matthews is going to be coming hard at Manny. Get positive yrds on early downs, move the chains, eat up clock and let that D do it's thing. Easier said than done though. :) PS....Manning and OC need to take more shots down the field. This dink and dunk only works when you stretch the D. You have to do that more often than Denver has so far. Beside, you have a chance at interference on those as well.

I was listening to Broncos radio this morning as usual and they got to talking about Latimer. I know on one of the threads we had a talk about whether he is a bust or not. They said that the defensive players have said the guy is down right impressive. They said he is one of the hardest guys for them to cover with his combination of speed, power, and height. The problem of why he is not getting on the field is a complete lack of trust from Manning in Latimer to do what he is supposed to do on the field. This is where I am hoping coaching steps in and says to Manning "Simplify things down because this kid is too talented to not be on the field." We need to stop having so many option routes and just tell him it doesn't matter what the formation just have him run this route. I think we could especially see him in the 2nd half of the season show up in the red zone.

I would be thrilled to see Latimer get into the game plan more. His physical skills are just too much to waste but he just doesn't seem to be smart enough to grasp a playbook. I hope you're right, CD and we start to see him emerge. Color me skeptical and hopeful at the same time.

I think with Latimer he is just not built for a Manning offense that requires a WR to take in a ton of information in a very short time. He is not one that is built to read a defense and figure out the exact route Manning wants him to run. Like I said I think if we simplify things a bit the entire offense could really take off. They were talking that right now Manning really only trusts Sanders to be where he is supposed to be. It is why he always gets the look on 3rd down and why they think DT is really struggling with drops this year. We simplify things then players will get out of their own way. This is where Manning is just going to have to deal with the fact that players just are not as up to speed as he is and work to meet them at their level.

Interesting. I do find it odd that Latimer always gets raves in camp, then looks good in preseason, then nothing once the season starts. With the Broncos struggles in the red zone, it might be a good idea to get Latimer involved near the goal line. Nothing complicated, no reads, just one route to run. Big body like that it certainly can't hurt. And it's not like the Broncos can be worse in the red zone, anyway.

True. I'm just really hoping that this Bye Week has given Kubiak, the coaches, and Manning some time to have some very honest conversations with one another. This team is just too talented on the offensive side of the ball to continue to struggle like they are. Manning is going to have to give a lot in my opinion if they want to see this offense thrive. Kubiak in my opinion has given quite a bit so far.

At this point I would say Latimer lacks the mental capacity to pick up a pro style offense.

An interesting stat I heard on the local Packer sports talk was that the Packers have scored 66 points in the 1st quarter of games so far this year and have allowed 9 against them in the first quarter.

They said the Broncos have not allowed any scoring in the first quarter so far this season.

With this being the case one of these 2 trends will be changing on Sunday

The defense has definitely done great in the 1st quarter. The problem for the Broncos is they have yet to score a 1st quarter touchdown. Definitely going to be interesting to see who strikes first. Really seems like with both of us having great pass rushes that whoever gets up early could really be the big difference maker in this one.
