Game Thread: Week 5: Bears (3-1) vs Bucs (3-1)

Be nice to win this one mainly to stuff it in the face of all the mediots that have written us off already.

Offense has to actually be serviceable, though...as has been and will continue to be the case.

So the Bucs have the 4th best defense based on yardage through 4 weeks., eh? That's surprising. I wouldn't say their schedule was a juggernaut, but it did include one game vs NO.

Finding a way to win wouldn't shock me. But it's hard to find a reason to be confident.

I do think it's a bit ridiculous that you're 3-0 one week. Then, you lose to a really good looking Colts team the next and you're treated like you are a bottom feeding team. That's one thing I hate about the NFL. The radical knee jerk reactions week to week. People love these massive pendulum swings.

Mitch plays 3.2 bad seasons worth of QB. Foles saves our ass in his first appearance. The offense plays poor the next... in his FIRST start? Against maybe the best D in football? And parts of our fanbase is seriously calling for Mitch again? Like, come on.

It's not that we lost, it's how we lost. Foles didn't make an ounce of difference. And the realization that this team yet again is without a capable QB is starting to sink in. To make things worse, we'll probably finish 7-9 or 8-8 missing the playoffs and not bad enough where we would land a desperately needed top QB.

Hopefully Foles shows us something tonight, that last week was just him getting acclimated as a starter on a new team. Otherwise this season is done.

you can make all the excuses you want but I'm looking at the quality of the throws and I'm seeing the same quality in this game. He's underthrowing, missing, looks terrible. He has better touch than Trubs but lacks Trub's mobility, so, so far, i'm not seeing much of an upgrade.

This is what I’m talking about. We’re 3-1 and look like we’ve thrown in the towel. How does that even happen?

I have no confidence in chuck pagano. Teams are consistently able to pick us apart over the middle of the field. Can we change things up a little bit?c maybe it's just how we can't stop the run without throwing the entire front 7 at the LOS.
