Yesterday during the game I had to listen to it on the radio and all I could find was a Chiefs radio station. That was probably the most frustrating group of announcers I have ever listened to. Phil Simms though would have fit in perfect with these guys and their hatred of all things broncos. Every stop of the running back for two or less yards they blamed on the turf at the Bronco stadium as the running back slipped is the only reason they didn't score a touchdown.

Oh man. The Chiefs play by play guy, Mitch Holthus, is TERRIBLE. I mean he is absolutely insufferable to listen to. In his mind the Chiefs have never made a bad play. The color guy is Len Dawson, and he's not even as biased as Holthus is. Whenever I'm in the car when the Chiefs are playing I can barely stand to listen to the game, even though I want to know how it's going. Ugh, he's awful.

I about had to shut it off. He spent a good chunk of the 2nd half talking about the off sides penalty at the 2-minute warning and how the Broncos got such a lucky break with that call. All I kept thinking is "do you realize how many breaks your team has gotten in this game?" Then when the Chiefs picked up those long 3rd downs I thought the guy was going to pass out from excitement. I guess if he was cheering for the Broncos I would have loved it but yeah listening to the opposing teams radio guys is just about enough to drive a man crazy. My wife finally started making a game of it to help me stay calm making fun of him any time he said something negative about the Broncos.

I'm going to put my predictions out there with some boldness...Now on the General Board I picked the Seahawks to win but the more I think about Welker being back and the team being able to finally spread the defense out and really show off the run game a bit more I do think the Broncos could surprise the Seahawks and the nation with how good the run game looks this week...

So here it goes.

I think Manning goes 28-35 passing with 3 touchdowns and 0 picks. He throws for 305 yards.

Ball runs 20 times for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns (1 receiving 1 rushing)

Anderson runs 8 times for 50 yards

DT receiving goes 8 catches for 90 yards and a touchdown.

Sanders has 3 catches 70 yards with one of those being a 40 yard bomb that really opens up the offense.

Julius has 7 catches for 80 yards and a touchdown

Welker has 5 catches 45 yards

Defensively the Broncos get 2 picks in this game. Talib gets one and Nate Irving the other.

The Broncos get 4 sacks in this one with Ware and Miller each getting one.

They hold Lynch to 60 yards rushing in this one.

Final Score--Broncos 31 Seahawks 17...Now I know that is all full on homer mode. I guess it is just a hope I have that this team with all the smack talk that has happened over the last 6 months just lets it all out on the field this week.

Diggin' it. I'll cosign with my homer shades on as well. I think if we're able to grind out over 100 yards on the ground we may very well be able to pull it off. Gotta get Seattle's O off the field on 3rd downs too. Can't have a repeat of last week with that :D

The ground game will be important. The OL showed some major improvement from week 1 to week 2 and I think that will continue. In the run game people have to remember the LG probably has the biggest role of any player on the OL. They are being asked to pull sometimes clear to the outside of the TE position on a single play and then break down and block a guy that is most likely a lot faster than them. Franklin truly is the key in my opinion to this run game finding success. He has the power blocking skills to be dominant. It is now just a matter of learning the OG position and how to block while pulling.

I also think Gase needs to do a better job of committing to the run. It seems like he sees this incredible weapon in Peyton and all the pieces he has in the pass game and is just too afraid to lean on the run game to go out and dominate a game. IF there is a game to lean on the run game it is this one with the crowd noise and the secondary of Seattle. Look at what the Chargers did. Yes they did not have a great per carry average but they were committed to staying balanced and not letting Seattle tee off on what the Chargers were going to do. The best way to help out the pass game is to establish the run game and truly make them respect the fact that we will run.

That sentence caught my attention, since it relates to three games I've thought quite a bit about the past few days: Our game against KC last Sunday, the SD win over Seattle that same day, and our loss to SD last December. A common theme in all of those games was how effective it can be to keep moving the chains and keep the defense off the field.

It seems to me that we learned the value of time of possession in the loss to SD last December, since we seemed to commit to running the ball more after that game. Perhaps the other two games that I mentioned above will remind Gase (LOL, that reads a bit presumptuous) of just how effective it can be to commit more to running the ball.

Alright so have a day in the office today so will have a few little things about the upcoming match up between the Broncos and Seahawks.

Injury report right now looks pretty darn good for the Broncos. Trevathan and McCray (I guess he hurt his knee in this last game and will be out a couple of weeks) are the only two that were not practicing for this week. Bruton, Garland, and McManus were limited at practice but good to see Garland once again up and practicing. McManus in the Chiefs game pulled his groin so that will be something to keep an eye on as his last couple of kick offs were low liners that were actually returned. The Seahawks kick off return ability is definitely something that can turn the game in their favor so hopefully he heals up quickly. One final note for the injury front is I guess Von Miller also pulled his groin in the game. Not sure how bad it was but he was a full participant yesterday at practice so probably wasn't too bad.

Seahawks side of things...Chancellor, Lynch, Miller, Morgan, and Simon did not practice yesterday. My guess is that was more of a precaution for most of them than anything. The playing in that ridiculous heat this past weekend probably has the whole team taking it a bit easier this week to recover would be my guess. Never want to mess around with that heat stroke stuff and dehydration.

So guess who is at practice today!! Danny Trevathan is actually practicing today. Now my guess is he won't be playing this week but good sign that he will have the Bye Week and then practice the week after to fully be ready for our 4th game.

Definitely good news. I hope he is ready to play Sunday, but it does seem unlikely.

If Denver is to win in Seattle I think these 3 things need to happen.....
1. Yards on first down for Denver. They need to improve there. Last yr I think they avg 4 yds on 1st down. That will keep Seattle on their heels a tad and at least slowdown the all- out blitz that Seattle loves and excells at.
2. Denver D needs to start making plays on 3rd down ( no dumb penaltys either) 11-16 for KC is not going to get it done and they`ll have their hands full even more with Wilson, than they did with A. Smith. Designate a LB or Ward to shadow Wilson at least on those 3rd down and long plays.
3. Bring some major intensity and stay desciplined ( the mis- direction plays have hurt Denver )

That`s it.. simple enough right? Kidding, Seattle will be very difficult to beat at home but if they can do those 3 things pretty good, they have a great chance to win this gm IMO

Here's he most simple analysis, our O-Line VS their D-Line. We win that battle we win the game.

Danny T is reportedly available for the game this Sunday. I doubt we'll see him, but it's awesome to know this vital piece of our D is on the brink of returning!

Yeah, I would love to have Trevathon out there on Sunday, but it seems pretty unlikely that he's read to play after only a couple of practices.

I just saw that 11 out of 11 "experts" on the BSPN website picked the Seahawks to win tomorrow. Not one picked the Broncos to win. Interesting.

I think that Seattle has won something like 18 of its past 19 home games, so I can't really fault anyone picking them tomorrow. Going to have to play really well to pull the upset.

Most experts picked the Seahawks. I think Legwold has the Broncos 27, Seahawks 24. Expert picks don't bother me. I only look to see how my own picks stack up with the "experts." It turns out I can guess as good as most of them!

I think Bleacher Report only had 1 writer pick the Broncos winning and that guy is the only one to pick Cleveland last week over New Orleans so who knows. I really can't blame anybody for picking Seattle. Heck if Vegas had this game even the gambling man in me would say take Seattle in this one as the odds are in that favor.

For me I'm just hoping the players talking all training camp of how they are tired of Seattle players running their mouths all off season gets this team fired up. In the preseason we saw especially this defense play with some swagger and knock some people around. So far in the first 2 games that has not happened.

Also I was listening to Bronco radio the other day and they had said that they have noticed after the Broncos have built up a big lead in the first two games they went to a very vanilla offense and defense. Some are thinking the Broncos have really been handcuffing the playbook so far knowing they didn't have to blow out Indy and the Chiefs and be able to hold onto a few tricks for this game. We shall see I guess.

I'm actually kind of hoping for the first play of the game that 2 things happen...1) The Broncos have their first snap actually make it into Peyton's hands. That happens and we are already looking better than the Super Bowl. 2) The play that I would run would be in a trips formation to the right and have D. Thomas run a WR screen look drawing up the Safeties and Corners. I would then have Sanders run like he is about to block then sprint straight down the field having Manning pump fake the fake screen then go deep to Sanders right off the bat. Big play from the beginning is a nice way to soften up that defense.

The Broncos will definitely have to bring their "A" game to win tomorrow. And a big key will be to match the Seahawks' physicality and intensity. Seattle will be pumped, and I can't imagine that the Broncos will come out flat, so it should be a very good game.

On a strategic level, I wouldn't mind if we went the entire game without relying on a 3-man rush (or the entire season for that matter). Hopefully, JDR will use Von on some stunts and delayed blitzes to allow him a free lane to Wilson. Von may be the one defender that Wilson can't shake. I just want to see him plant that little bastard on his back.

Offensively, I think the key will be TOP. We need to wear their defense out and keep Wilson off the field. The O-line needs to have a big game.
