We need to upgrade the o-line badly... GB were rushing 4 guys and putting Goff under pressure much quicker then expected. I wish Goff could shorten up his wind up on short to medium throws. Would make him a better QB by getting rid of the ball faster. Not sure why no one has taught him to not wind up every throw like its going 50 yards downfield.

he's 5 yrs in still holding the ball too long on throws. If he hadn't fixed it yet then idk

9 rec for 66 yds and a TD isn’t exactly shutting down Adams.
I would say it is, averaged 7 yards a catch, we let them dink and dunk on us all day. Adams is one of the best receivers in the league 66 yards on 9 catches is shutting him down!!!

I agree

I don’t know what Adams was bragging about after the game with his dig at Ramsey with stats like that, when not all his stats were against Ramsey anyway.

Then either one of two things needs to happen:
1. We need a new OC because this guy just wasn't good.
2. He was an OC in name only and McVay couldn't fully relinquish control, which he should do.
Sounds about right, since I'm not very close to the situation.

I've never been a fan of the Lamar Jackson, running/mobile style QB. But if people want to go that route with a QB, then why not give Bryce Perkins a chance? He wouldn't cost a lot and has played behind way worse offensive lines than this when he was at UVA (I know because his senior year, I watched all of their games and they couldn't block for shit and he was running for his life just about every passing play) and was the only worthwhile runner on the team (the QB has been the leading rusher for their teams the past three seasons). He's able to make a lot of plays with his feet and has had all of this year to recover from all the hits he took during college, so he should be fresh.
I do think if we don't do something drastic about our line, we need to get that style of QB who can scramble out of trouble. Just look at the stark difference, yesterday, Our QB was sacked 4X and theirs was never really in trouble all day, our struggled to run the ball at times, and theirs dominated running the ball... In a 1 score game in the 4th, those things compound until we get the final we did. As far as Perk goes, he's getting his chance, it's called the Practice Squad. JK UVA guy, and I know you seen him a lot but from what I've heard, he has major flaws with accuracy and reads. He can work on those and get better so who the heck knows, a real shot could be coming down the road.
The complaints about the offensive line are why me and a lot of other people I remember on here (not sure if you were one of them or not) were angry that we waited until the end of the draft last year to finally draft an offensive lineman. To me, they're like what pitchers are to a baseball team, you can never have enough of them as far as I'm concerned.
I'll admit I was one of the, let's let the guys we have develop, but it wasn't because I didn't think the OL needed vast improvements, it was because by the time we picked, the OL draft selections were not as good as the guys we already had, and the guys we already had were with NFL experience. So to draft them there, we miss out on guys like Cam and take a step backward on the OL.

From what I remember, his two big flaws were his ball carrying skills because he did hold the ball out to make it easy for defenders to pop it out. The other major one I remember is what I call Jason Campbell syndrome where he stares down the receiver he wants to throw to. But he did make a lot of guys miss when he was running for his life but since guys are even faster in the NFL, I don’t know if he’d be faster than them. But would like to find out nine day.

yeah it's booty chatter they won but he only scored on that play, just like Diggs 4 yard td on goaline... pedestrian night.. 66 yds

Rogers knows what to do in the pocket. He can escape and gain yards or he can avoid sacks. Goff is awful in the pocket. The man has concrete boots literally. Lol you’re not gonna have a perfect pocket in the NFL no matter how good the Oline is.

And ironically none of the remaining NFC QB's are a good fit either for this Rams offense.

Goff, like Rodgers, Brees and Brady, all do great with a clean pocket and a great running game.

The Pack had nearly the entire Rams rushing production today shortly after the first quarter, and nearly doubled the Rams effort by games end.

Any QB does great with a clean pocket. Lmao

But Brady and Brees pocket AWARENESS is much much better than Goff. Rodgers can scramble and make plays. Brady and Brees make plays too obviously. Maybe Goff will get better and he was yesterday. But when the pocket collapses he still can’t move and he’s pretty much always toast.

Jared Goff is not going to lead us to the Super Bowl. And his contract is going to keep us from getting better players.

Do we even reach the Super Bowl without CJ Anderson a few years ago? I don’t think so. We need that bowling ball type RB to mix with Cam and Cam is a beast that should get faster, stronger

CJ definitely saved our asses at the end of that season when Gurley went downhill in a hurry. I don’t think we get to the Super Bowl without him.

I just wonder how seriously Goff takes this. If those reports earlier in the season were true and he was out partying the night before some games, someone needs to knock some sense into him.

Lol. Ok, if it makes you feel better. Just don’t forget the touch down. FYI, not every star receiver has pro bowl stats every game he plays. The most important thing is he did enough to get his team the win.

Lol. He just doesn’t seem like a partier to me. But maybe he’s tying it on at night and bangin pornn stars. He’s young. He did look better yesterday. I attribute that to matching up to a fellow Cal QB and trying to bring his best against him. He managed the game pretty well. Can’t move up in the pocket and avoid a sack to save his life but he did everything else really he had to do. If he would just step up a bit in the pocket he could grab a few yards and avoid a few sacks. But I can’t remember the last time he did that

I didn’t say that. Just that Adams had a TD in the game. Your fellow Rams fan is claiming the Rams defense shut down Adams. I’m merely pointing out that’s not quite the case. Adams has had better games but he’s also had worse.

Did you watch the game?

He did it yesterday and got smacked in the face. I don't disagree with you though in regards to his ability to find the 'sweet' spot to slide in the pocket (It's not always a step up, and I don't think anyone is better than Brady at doing this. He keeps his eyes down field and just find his spot to set up the pass.

Goff has zero feel in the pocket and when he feels the pressure he moves his eyes towards the pressure missing open routes.

So it's not like we disagree, but he did step up yesterday, and there was no place to step up to.

:L

what game? He stepped up in the pocket yesterday once? Lol when?

You’re right he has zero feel in the pocket. So comparing him to Rodgers Brady and Brees and the need for a “clean” pocket is pretty bad. Any QB at this level is good with a clean pocket. It’s How do they make plays when forced out of their comfort zone

I was screaming as loud as I could whine and scream for us to pick an O-lineman last year before the end of the draft. We did get some great picks though in Lewis, Burgess, Van Jefferson, and Fuller to name a few. Anchrum will come around but McSnead just are not comfortable taking O-lineman in the 2nd through 5th rounds. I suppose we have a significant history of drafting some real losers in our recent history that seems to keep that belief alive. G-Rob comes to mind.
