That's because Austin Blythe continues to be a major sieve at Center and he can't handle the bigger DTs that bull rush him or blitzes that come up the middle. Some of the up-the-middle blitzes responsibilities fall on Edwards and Corbet as well and ultimately McVay.Did you watch the game?
He did it yesterday and got smacked in the face. I don't disagree with you though in regards to his ability to find the 'sweet' spot to slide in the pocket (It's not always a step up, and I don't think anyone is better than Brady at doing this. He keeps his eyes down field and just find his spot to set up the pass.
Goff has zero feel in the pocket and when he feels the pressure he moves his eyes towards the pressure missing open routes.
So it's not like we disagree, but he did step up yesterday, and there was no place to step up to.
