Did you watch the game?

He did it yesterday and got smacked in the face. I don't disagree with you though in regards to his ability to find the 'sweet' spot to slide in the pocket (It's not always a step up, and I don't think anyone is better than Brady at doing this. He keeps his eyes down field and just find his spot to set up the pass.

Goff has zero feel in the pocket and when he feels the pressure he moves his eyes towards the pressure missing open routes.

So it's not like we disagree, but he did step up yesterday, and there was no place to step up to.
That's because Austin Blythe continues to be a major sieve at Center and he can't handle the bigger DTs that bull rush him or blitzes that come up the middle. Some of the up-the-middle blitzes responsibilities fall on Edwards and Corbet as well and ultimately McVay.

:L

what game? He stepped up in the pocket yesterday once? Lol when?

You’re right he has zero feel in the pocket. So comparing him to Rodgers Brady and Brees and the need for a “clean” pocket is pretty bad. Any QB at this level is good with a clean pocket. It’s How do they make plays when forced out of their comfort zone
One of the reasons Goff was so much better in 2018 is he had a decent D, he had a good running game with Gurley, and his O-line was way better with Sullivan at Center. This O-line has struggled mightily since the Rams jettisoned Sullivan at Center.

Two areas should be the focus in this year's draft: The O-line and LBs. We don't need anymore D-backs or WRs or TEs. The Rams should also pick-up a big, badass running back with speed like say a Najee Harris.

Genius/Dumbass boy is now singing the same refrain again about the why the Rams looked like a turds and lost to the Packers. How many times have we heard this same shit about his bad play-calling. Well if you are that bad, hire a damn OC who can do it better and relinquish those duties to some other offensive genius boy. Maybe that is why Goff has gone into the nightlife to screw porrn stars and do weed and whatever else he is doing the night before games. Good grief!!

Now it looks like we are going to lose both coordinators to the Chargers. Kevin O'Connell is headed to the OC position with the Chargers for, as it appears, one major reason. He wasn't permitted by McVay to call the plays. Well WTF? WTF do you have an OC who can't call a game for and then ya turn around and come out with this same bullshit sing-song whining about the fact that you, genius/dumbass boy suck at calling a game? What the F.... kinda of bullshit is this anyways?

Here are all 17 FAs this year. There are some serious personnel decisions in this bunch. Guys like Williams, Fox, Hill, McQuaide, Rivers, and even John Johnson should be top priorities. Everyone else, there's the door!

This latest revelation about McVay not letting his OC call the plays in a game is really an eye-opener. This dude is beginning to remind me of this micro-managing douchebag at work who just drives everyone crazy because she can't trust people to do the job they are trained to do and she runs her mouth constantly.

Players don't really trust a guy who doesn't really trust the other coaches to do the jobs they been hired to do and players see that and begin to roll their eyes at McVay. Granted he has changed the culture with the players but with the coaches? This is some real crazy shit going on here and it explains alot about why and when we lose.

Granted McVay says he wants to win but he then sabotages that effort by micro-managing people to near death. That look of a complete confusion and failure on McVay's face and body in the second half of the Snooperbowl is pretty much motivating this latest revelation/behavior because McVay doesn't want to be in a position like that again. Unfortunately, that sets-up that person to be an ever-increasing failure because no one can micro manage and be successful. They usually burn-out or die. Two classic examples come to mind: Vincent Lombardi and our own Dick Vermeil.

Micro-management drains a persons vision, discernment, and creativity and this is why McVay is becoming increasingly myopic when simultaneously he is being exposed and prepared for that leads to a defeat. When McVay couldn't overcome the 46 Defense that Belicheat was running in the Snooperbowl, even after the legendary McVay adjustments at halftime, he looked completely defeated, humiliated, and discouraged. Rather than take a different approach that may lead to a reinvention and then build off of that, McVay went into stand-pat mode and by the 2020 season, he desperately needed somebody to step-up.

Hiring two new coordinators accomplished that and righted the ship temporarily but the pattern of being exposed and defeated followed by a doubling of efforts to stay with the passing game course at all costs had emerged. His losses were to friends and his new coaching tree of coaches as well as to no preparation via being the players' buddy instead of head coach. This proved to be the final nail at the end of this season in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Something else is evident. McVay has yet to demonstrate an ability to develop the Champion's heart in his players. The Rams will never get to, much less win another Snooperbowl with McVay until he learns that teams that are perennially successful have a Champion's heart. Even though he grew-up with watching it, he has yet to develop his players with it because when you micromanage, you destroy the trust that is at the core of the Champion's heart.

This is one reason why AD was so distraught after the Packers loss. AD has a Champion's heart already built-in and his debilitating injury so pained him with the realization that he could not deliver his awesomeness this time led to his release of emotion that indeed said alot. He is also becoming acutely aware that his window of opportunity along with say Andrew Whitworth's are slowly closing and being wasted by a coach who still doesn't understand that genius is not only a state but is an operative strategy that continually requires upgrades.

Winning and losing in the NFL and in sports in general is may be that simple and what a shame to be a witness to all of this when it could easily be so different. Just ask Dick Vermeil.

Saw a Tweet that McVay and Goff need "marriage counseling."

What's going on with those 2, anybody know?

Probably both need maturity. Goff I feel doesn’t take it as seriously as he should and McVay I’m thinking still has a massive ego and the reality checks and humblings haven’t been getting through his thick skull.

Spot on UVA. McVay thinks he is the NFL's only genius even after he has been kicked in the ass a number of times on a national stage especially the Snooperbowl debacle.

That season was when I think you could start spotting the chinks in the armor, starting with that Bears game we had on SNF where our offense couldn’t move the ball for most of the night.

Yep UVA and that disintegration has been a steady downhill and accelerating series of connected events that are slowly resulting in this team being just average while wasting great players' opportunities at being champions.

The play calling by McVay is bizarre.... you want to get the ball out of Goff's hand quickly? What happened to quick slants? Never see it... Stop with the WR screens, everyone sees it coming at this point and they rarely work when you call them so often.

Word is that Floyd, John Johnson, Ebukam, and Troy Hill and maybe even Darious Williams are headed across the hall to join Staley as Chargers.

One of the RetroGreats, Jon Arnett, Pro Bowl running back of old died Saturday evening at 85. This guy was a badass and would knock the crap out of you running with the ball. Sad day indeed.

Lol. Ok, if it makes you feel better. Just don’t forget the touch down. FYI, not every star receiver has pro bowl stats every game he plays. The most important thing is he did enough to get his team the win.
As I said, he is one of the best WRs in the league, but yes that is shutting him down, other than that 4 yard bomb he caught!!

Any QB does great with a clean pocket. Lmao

But Brady and Brees pocket AWARENESS is much much better than Goff. Rodgers can scramble and make plays. Brady and Brees make plays too obviously. Maybe Goff will get better and he was yesterday. But when the pocket collapses he still can’t move and he’s pretty much always toast.
I get what you are saying, obviously Brady and Brees are better than Goff along with a lot of other QBs. But Neither Brady or Brees had a great game last weekend either, it happens!

absolutely bad games happen but you can’t hide from leading the NFL in turnovers the past few years. The Miami 4 turnover game was unacceptable. He’s looked really bad more than really good

Past 2 years Goff is 42 TDs and 29 INTs. Then add in the fumbles. Can’t do that if you want to win rings
