not enough to offset the cost of over time i suppose ... as far as a know promoters have always covered the cost of extended hours

it looks like they will be open late for the game vs dallas on dec 7th tho

Attention Redskins fans: No late Metro service for preseason game against Jaguars
Thanks for the link. This does seem like more of the blame should go to Snyder than Metro. What's going to end up happening is - people are going to leave the games early to get on the subway. Does Snyder really want that to happen?

There will be no Metro service at the Nationals Ballpark when playoffs hit and start times are moved to 8:10 or later. Safetrack takes precedence over everything.

I'm surprised at how much people seem to expect us to lose this game. I really feel it's a toss up. First of all its at home and second of all I don't think Pittsburgh is that great. I think we should be able to score pretty well. Meanwhile they're without Martavis Bryant and LeVeon Bell. Big Ben and AB are always scary and DWill will keep their running game going but this isn't the Patriots. They're a solid team but the type I would expect we can be very competitive with this year.

Far as Skins fans thinking the worst/expecting them to lose Monday. My personal take goes down like this. While I'm certainly hopeful right now. I wonder how hopeful I'll be at halftime of the game. You say the Steelers aren't the Pats, OK, but I consider them to be a solid team that wins more than it loses which is exactly, the kind of team that the Skins have rarely shown they can beat the last 20+ years. The last team the Skins beat that finished the season with a winning record was the Colt McCoy QBed team that beat Dallas on MNF in 2014. Before that it was Baltimore in 2012 when Griff was the starting pitcher and Cuz provided a little, but certainly hellified relief. And speaking of Cuz. He's currently 0fer as a starter against teams with winning records. Kinda funny that you mentioned the Pats, as even though the Skins ended up ass paddled in that game last year. Cuz might've been the only Redskin and certainly the only one from an offensive skilled player position standpoint. That had a decent game.

The game is in prime time where the Skins are usually horrid and suck disease riddled swollen blue whale nuts. It's against a QB that's never lost to the Skins and while they don't play each other that much, 6 times dating back to 1991. 1991 was the last time the Skins beat the Steelers.

Percentages, odds, and logic dictate that the Skins will eventually return to being a team that can and will successfully compete against opposing teams with winning records. I just wonder at times if I'll be around to see it and until I see it for myself with my own eyes. When it comes to playing the Pittburgh's of the world. While I will certainly hope for the best. I won't be surprised if much less than the best is what I see. Butt hurt maybe, but not surprised.

Damn Breed, you put alot of thought into describing just how truly forked up we tend to look in prime time openers with this one.

And for the record, I think we either win this one ugly ( like by three points on a Steelers fuckup at the last minute ugly)

Or...... we end up like Bridgett Powers vs Godzilla and get reamed for all to see.

Heh. I was thinking if I under-emphasized it too much.

I'd prefer a Skins winning the game kinda game, I'm sure we all would, as opposed to the opposing team losing it. I could handle a Steelers fuck up. last minute ugly Skins win just fine though.

Some info about lesser known Steelers from Master Tes...

The Steelers have consistently found other weapons to pair with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Antonio Brown. That likely won’t be any different against the Washington Redskins on Monday night with Markus Wheaton, Eli Rogers and Sammie Coates.

Wheaton, 25, enters as the most-established wide receiver outside of Brown, with 1,393 yards over the past two seasons, although he is listed as day-to-day with a shoulder injury. Rogers had a solid preseason in the slot as he enters his second season, while Coates, a third-round pick out of Auburn last year, has good size, at 6 feet 1 and 212 pounds, and speed to stretch Washington’s defense. Wheaton, if healthy, likely will serve as the No. 2 receiver behind Brown, with Rogers, an undrafted rookie in 2015 who has yet to play an NFL game, in the slot.

“You lose Emmanuel, and Mike Wallace and Bryant and they just come out of nowhere,” Redskins safety DeAngelo Hall said. “It seems to not matter who they put out there, but they do a great job of just finding the kind of guys that they like that can make plays. Next man up

Nah you pretty much nailed it. And I think most of us would take a Skins win no matter how it came. With the back end of the schedule, and our road schedule in general, the only real shot we got is to get off to a good start early.

Ah yes - this is the beauty of the NFL. On paper it appears as if you are 100% correct. However - as you know - the games are not played on paper & a lot can occur between now & the end of the season especially in the injury dept.

Look at last season. On paper at the beginning of the year many of the games at the end of the season appeared totally unwinnable for the Redskins especially when you consider that many people had them pegged as the worst team in the NFL at the beginning of the season. Remember - both Dallas and Philly were considered SB contenders heading into the season. Sure the Redskins had some luck along the way, but they also improved their roster and played very well in many areas.

Who knows what will happen this season. People also need to be careful to not put too much stock into what happens in the Steelers game - whether the Redskins win or lose. I recall many people giving up on the Redskins last season after the season opening loss to the Dolphins. It is a long season & again injuries are the great equalizer.

Jay admits Matt Jones hasn't been hit on that shoulder yet...Matt says he's 95% today

I expect to see more of Kelley in this game than the Skins are predicting

Markus Wheaton (shoulder) is considered "unlikely" to play on Monday Night Football against the Redskins after missing practice all week.

Wheaton previously guaranteed he would play against Washington, but beat writer David Todd considers Wheaton "a big question mark" who ultimately "looks unlikely" to play in Week 1. If Wheaton indeed is inactive, Sammie Coates or Darrius Heyward-Bey would get the start across from Antonio Brown. Eli Rogers is the Steelers' slot receiver. Pittsburgh holds one more practice on Saturday. We should have a firmer grasp on Wheaton's status then.

Out of nowhere I remembered a post I made back on KFFL when the trade up for Griffin was being discussed. I remember I said (paraphrasing) "it makes a lot more sense to go after one of the highest rated QB in years than it does to draft Kirk Cousins and hope he turns into Ben Rothlisberger"

Oh the irony.
