Game Thread: Week 1: Denver Broncos at New York Giants

Broncos 19, Giants 13. A win is a win, but there are no easy wins in the NFL. Especially since this roster/staff is unproven. So I'm hopeful, even confident the Broncos win, but it'll be closer than we think it should be.

The one factor that I heard somewhere that I had not thought about previously is the emotion from the 20th anniversary of 9/11. Not sure that helps or hurts the Giants.

Need to get off to a good start and get a rare East Coast win these days. Seems like season openers on the road have not gone well for us in the past. Go Broncos. Crush those New Jersey Giants.

Apparently Todd Davis just retired because Judge has been riding his players too hard. Giants are gonna have real problems putting in that effort for a coach they don’t believe in. Should be an easy win for us.

Barkley's week 1 workload will be interesting. I wouldn't expect a full workload.

Could even apply that to the Patriots post-Brady. Players may not put up with Belichick himself if they keep losing.

The Giants have a pretty solid Defense with a very good Dline and solid CB's. I worry about that with our interior offensive line. If we can't run the ball it will not bode well. That said the Broncos D should shut down the Giants so I expect a low scoring game with the team that does not turn the ball over. 17-13 Denver.

I expect the Broncos to leave N.Y. with a win. If they don't though Fangio's seat might get really hot.

Malik Reed fills in nicely. I would rather Chubb sit this week if he truly isn’t feeling good. It’s early give that ankle an extra week if needed.

If we had a proven offense I wouldn’t be too concerned about the Giants D. James Bradberry is goos though. But with our offense being so bad in recent years I am concerned with any D but hopeful of course.

We go into this game pretty healthy, but it is week 1. The question and hope is we get out of it pretty healthy.

Last year our first 3 weeks of the season were brutal with the injury bug and it all started the week before the season with Von Miller.

Belichick had one post Brady season that Included a pandemic. The team also had the highest number of players in the NFL that opted out (8).
Brady picked a plum of a team that would have been a deep playoff threat if anyone other than Jameis Winston had been their QB. No one will argue that Brady made it easy for Belichick by just happening to be the greatest QB/player in NFL history. BUT, and that's a big but, Brady also had 10 other guys helping him.

On the other side, The Broncos haven't done shit since Elway left, with the exception of one year with Peyton Manning who was not a home grown player. They've done nothing since.

As far as being a sensitive little girl goes.. I'm probably more than twice your age. I did four tours in Vietnam. I'm 72 years old, combat disabled and have earned my right to be as sensitive as I want. Then again, you're the one who is the most sensitive, whether in the Bronco or the Politics threads.
