Thats why there will always be an * from OKC fans next to Durants championships. He won't get any respect until he can prove that he can win a title with his own team.

That was also enough under the cap to sign a max player and retain all their core guys.

This is a once in a gereration situation.

No asterisk required. KD is an all time great player with 2 titles and counting.

I could understand wanting to put an asterisk by KD if he went to the Warriors and was just a role player or wasn't their best player.

But he has been their best player and was the MVP in both finals.

In fact, you can make a case that the Warriors may have at least 1 less title if they didn't have KD.

Portland in the WCF and blowing double digit second half leads? Oh the nostalgia is great!

They also listed GSW’s record with Durant and without Curry. 46 games and they had a 28-18 record.
What's the conclusion? Is the problem if Durant is more important than Curry or vice versa, or is it if GSW would underachieve without Durant?

I wonder if the criticism will come as quickly as the praise.

We know how Lebron would be treated if he played this poorly in a conference finals
even if he was great in round 1.

Give Golden State all the credit in the world, but the superstar also has to take some of the blame when he is beyond horrible.

First time in his career given the bright lights and big stage, and he turtled up into a fetal position all series long.

If Dame wants to be in that next tier of superstar, he's going to have to put up a better showing.

This was his moment to be a pain in the ass to the Warriors.

Instead, he's been the biggest surprise this series in terms of bad play.

I guess that is my point.

I really don't think either is bad.

Players have the right to do what is best for them in free agency. Teams are always trying to put out the best roster possible. It is hard to build a champion in the NBA and windows can be short lived.

I don't fault LeBron, I don't fault KD, I don't fault the Heat or the Warriors.

They all did what was best for them.

I do fault all the complainers out there. Opponents need to stop whining and find a way to compete. The Warrior run will end soon enough, just as all prior dynasties have eventually fizzled out.

You damn sure know that if OKC or any other team in the league could do what the Warriors and Heat did, they'd do it too.

This series, in a multitude of ways, speaks more about the greatness of Curry than anything else. Dame is struggling this series because the Warriors are keying in on him as the guy to stop. They're throwing everything at him and selling out and forcing the role players to try to step up.

But guess what though, that's the exact defense teams have played against Curry his entire career, and especially in those 2015 and 2016 back to back MVP seasons.

There have been great players who commanded a double team at all times. But there has never been one that's commanded one from 35 feet out. Steph slander is really quiet right now and deservedly so.

"In their past 31 games in which Curry plays and Durant doesn’t, the Warriors are 30-1".

So that is the standard greatness is going to be measured on, they “might” have one less title out of what is getting ready to be 3? Sorry, I saw someone play that entrenched in my kind what greatness really is. No participation trophies in my world.

Asterisks are way overused. Really, it's just a way to hate on someone you don't like. Either the person accomplished it or he didn't. End of story. Just say you don't like someone; you don't need to use asterisks.

This Steph Curry fella is knida good.

With 35+ pts., 5+ rebs. & 5 asts. in the first 2 games of a conference finals he became the 1st NBAer to do that since KAJ was a rookie in 1970.

That's cool and all but pretty specific. Who did that in the first 2 games of a Finals? How about the second round? The first round? How about on Fridays?

Don't know who did that in the other rounds. And why not ask about Thursdays?
