I’d say no to Flores and Taylor. I’d be ok with Munchak or Fangio.

According to Kils these is your final 5 choices. Which one will work with Elway's blanky Kubiak?

I think if we go a Defensive minded HC they will let Kubiak have full control of the Offense.

I guess sometimes even crappy Nebraska QB's turn into good coaches right? ;)

Nebraska has not really had a very good QB. We will see what Martinez turns out to be.

Frost had done pretty well in the college ranks.

Crouch became a WR in the NFL then retired to play QB in the CFL
Frost became a S for the Jets

Today's game would have been different for them. Someone would have given them a shot at QB today whereas back then nobody wanted them at QB becuase they didn't fit the mold. Guys like Charlie Ward and Tommie Frazier would probably be a first round draft pick in today's NFL wereas back 20 years ago they went undrafted because of teams being in love with size.

Speaking of Nebraska QB's just signed Tommie Armstrong to the indoor league I am part of.

Could Pagano be interviewing for a DC spot, with Kubiak as OC - and Taylor as HC ???

Taylor can't be interviewing for the HC spot, could he ?? .. 2018 is his first year as QBs coach and in '17 he was assistant WRs coach ....

Really not a fan of any of our interviewees, save Taylor. And I'd realistically only hire him as an OC, unless he flat out blew everyone away.

It’s not often that a coach makes the jump from being a position coach to a head coach. Zac Taylor is the Rams’ QBs Coach, and is viewed by most as being a solid year out from being ready for a head job.

However, Taylor has been an offensive coordinator in the NFL twice before, so he’s not lacking experience completely. At 35, he’s a young’un but his nose is on the cutting edge of modern offensive innovation, which makes him very intriguing.

He’s got ties to the Kubiak family, so don’t sleep too much on Taylor winning the job, but he’d have to blow Elway away in the interview process on Thursday.

from24/7 so who knows

The former head coach of the Colts interviews with the Broncos on Wednesday. Although Chuck Pagano was fired in Indianapolis, he left with a plus.-500 record as head coach.

Pagano is well-respected around the league and fits the NFL head-coaching retread model Elway seems to be prioritizing at this point in time. He'd likely fit well with Gary Kubiak as OC, which seems to be the intent of the Broncos.

If we had to bet on it now, we’d put our money on the Colorado native winning the Broncos’ job. Pagano's Wednesday interview, some say, could linger into Thursday.

Thus ends the power-ranking of the candidates scheduled to meet with Elway, but what about the coaches on the market the Broncos have also been tied to, but haven't officially requested for an interview yet?

hmmm, I didn;t realize that Taylor had been the OC with the Dolphins in 2015 and Cincy in 2016 ..after those stints, he goes to the Rams as assistant WR coach in 2017 and QB coach this past season ..

Still, that resume doesn;t instill confidence that he could be the HC of the Broncos .... Gotta be careful here with assistants to McVay -- we've seen it with Belichick's assistants, and how they have fared ..

On January 30, 2012, Taylor was named assistant quarterbacks coach for the NFL's Miami Dolphins. He was previously an assistant coach at Texas A&M, serving under former head coach Mike Sherman, his father-in-law.[6][7] On November 30, 2015, he was promoted to the team's interim offensive coordinator, after the firing of the previous offensive coordinator, Bill Lazor. During the five games Taylor served as OC, the Dolphins went 2-3 and averaged 17 points per game,[8] a slight regress from their per-game average under Lazor, though Interim Coach Dan Campbell still had positive things to say of Taylor's performance.

So the Dolphins offense actually regressed under Taylor ... In other words, he didn't do as well as the guy who was fired before him

Chuck Pangano's career as an NFL assistant or coordinator

This is pretty impressive

In 2001, Pagano joined Davis in the NFL as secondary coach for the Cleveland Browns. In 2003, he helped the Browns tie a franchise record for the fewest passing touchdowns allowed with 13. In 2001, the secondary accounted for 28 of the Browns' NFL-high 33 interceptions, and, in the same season, rookie cornerback Anthony Henry led the league with ten interceptions.

After leaving Cleveland in 2004, Pagano spent two seasons as the defensive backs coach of the Oakland Raiders. In 2006, the Raiders allowed just 151 passing yards per game and 285 total yards per game. This ranked them first and third in the league, respectively.

Pagano was named to John Harbaugh's initial coaching staff with the Baltimore Ravens on February 12, 2008.[3] He served as defensive secondary coach for three seasons. He was promoted to Defensive Coordinator on January 18, 2011, succeeding Greg Mattison who accepted a similar position at the University of Michigan.[4] Pagano's defense finished 3rd in both points allowed and in yards allowed. They finished 13 in takeaways and 2nd Rush yards allowed, but Baltimore's defense has always been known for its ability to stop the run. Pagano drastically improved the pass defense going from 21st in passing yards allowed to 4th. They improved from 9th in passing touchdowns allowed to 1st in the league. The defense also came away with 17 interceptions. Pagano is known for his ability in secondary and ability to stop opposing teams pass attack.

I'm warming up to the idea of a Chuck Pagano led team. I could live with Kubiak as OC in this scenario but I'm not convinced he's our best option. Also wondering if Joe Woods will survive the transition. I doubt it. Pagano has good credibility, experience and he hails from here (not that it means anything). Since he was the first interview, it seems to unveil who the Broncos front-runner may be. I just want this search to be exhaustive and uncover everything it can. No. Quick. Decision. Please. Scour everything to get our guy.

I know that 99.7345% of Denver fans wanted Vance fired. But as the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for. I hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see any of these 5 candidates being successful here. But I’m regularly wrong, so I hope I’m wrong in this opinion as well.

Especially not with the QBs Elway supplies.
