Using Picks for Trades.

There has been a lot of discussion about using our surplus of picks to move up, down or out of the draft but is there any realistic moves we could make for a player with our picks? We've recently used our lower picks for Martin, Gabbert, Boldin-who was an impact player for a low price-, but could we find an impact player through a trade?

if it were available, I'd think we'd already have done it?

at this point, it appears we're only looking at the draft.

The reports that he could be had for a second were never substantiated. And as our second and KC's second were both pretty clearly going to be late picks, it's highly likely the Browns would have wanted more.

Who knows. I'm just curious that with getting the additional 3rd if that allows us to feel free to use some picks for a veteran player.

IMO no, cause a trade would just value that player against one or more of our picks. we wouldn't have waited till we know what our comp pick would be? if we were targeting an 'impact' player, we would be using our 1st or 2nd's.

this comp pick was anticipated for awhile, so don't think we're NOW thinking lets seek a trade?

Talent-wise, no question. But the guy is one slip-up away from a year-long suspension, and I don't think they would have taken a conditional pick.

I hear that but I think it was worth a late first round pick just for our run last year, let alone moving forward.

That's fair. We would have been awfully dangerous in the playoffs with that receiving corps.
