I thought about Jeff Fisher last time for USC before the Kiffin hire. I think he was in between jobs then.

I think he was still with the Titans!! I seem to remember something about the Titans being upset because Garrett contacted him without talking to them 1st as he was under contract!! Could be wrong, but I thought I remembered that!!

I expect with Haden as AD, a potential coach search will be handled a bit less "hamhanded" than it was with that idiot Mike Garrett!!

I'm probably Kiffin's biggest/only defender and I would drive to USC and help Kiffin clean out his office!!

Then I'd drive to St. Louis, pack up Fishers stuff and help him move in!!

Fisher is a NFL man and has never coached a single game in college football. Although he has strong ties with USC, being an alum and having a habit of snagging coaches and players from there, I don't see him going there to coach.

Oregon should have an asterisk. Aren't they like USC 2.0? Last I checked only a handful of players on roster are even from Oregon and big majority are from California

Texas can literally write a check for 50 million if that is what it takes.

They have almost unlimited money. 50 million is not even absurd for the Horns.

Heck, hey could pay all the assistants 2 million as well if that is what it takes.

MONEY TALKS. Whenever it is not about the MONEY, it is always about the money.

If anything else, Texas would likely force other schools to nearly bankrupt themselves just to keep Texas at bay.

If Brown is let go, Saban will likely get a minimum of 4-5 million dollar raise out of panic from Bama.

I will agree that sanctions are a huge part of it but in reality those have barely taken effect. I hate to tell you but just because the sanctions are over in 2015 it will be at least 2017 before USC is close to recovery. Kiffin is part of it but no one and I mean no one loses 30 scholarships in 3 years and continues to compete on the highest level. They will have moments but they will be fleeting.

Behind the Orangebloods paywall it is said an emergency meeting occurred Sunday night, Powers, Mack, and just a few others. This meeting was after the Diaz announcement.

Mack is gone after this year, is what they are saying. Texas is looking to thank Mack Brown for what he has done.
