I'm not necessarily saying that picking Bradford over Suh was the right decision. What I'm saying is that every NFL organization would have made that pick. When your ass is on the line and you're trying to turn an organization around you don't pick a DT over a QB when you desperately need one. Like I said show me where it has happened.

Eh, Cougie. When Dick Vermeil took over the Rams, he selected O. Pace Number One over all and it sparked a rebuild that got us a Lombardi trophy. At the time, our D was horrific. Taking Suh might have had the same consequence although that argument would be strictly speculative.

Your series of assertions over the last several pages has some evidence for support throughout the history of the NFL but you are making absolute statements that really don't have much of a basis for consistent evidence. In a short word and to quote the Shawshank Redemption: "Red, I believe you are talking out of your ass!"

Yeah I do. but the conversation is about Sam and the Rams had the #1 pick at the time. Now show me a team that picked a DT #1 that was desperate for a QB but there was a QB sitting there that was rated high like Sam. I don't think it has happen because NFL teams value the QB position way more then any other spot.

Eh, Cougie. Once again, you are talking out of your ass. Ed "too tall" Jones was taken first overall in 1974, and the Cowboys needed a QB. Same for LeRoy Selmon, Bubba Smith, John Matuszak, Walt Patulski, and Kenneth Sims to name a few.

Actually this scenario is way more frequent that you are willing to acknowledge and in many cases, the team also needed a QB really badly. Again, I think your man-love for samantha has clouded your thinking.

Orlando pace was a no brainer at #1 because their were no QB's to take. I don't believe a QB was taken in the first Round that year. So that is a bad example.

They may have needed a QB but was there one to take at #1? This has nothing to do with Bradford. I'm trying to point out NFL teams don't take a DT if a highly rated QB is there to and they need one. And let's maybe stay in the the 20 years at least.

For fun, I just looked up a couple scouting reports online from the 2010 draft... Here are the first two sites that popped up...

Ndamukong Suh NFL Draft scouting report

2010 Scouting Report - Ndamukong Suh - Fantasy Football NFL Draft

From the second article: "Ndamukong Suh enters the NFL after having been one of the most dominant players in college football this decade. His best fit in the NFL will come either as a defensive tackle in the 4-3 or as an end in the 3-4; I’d keep him in the 4-3 if it were up to me, as that’s where you’re going to get the most out of his abilities. Suh is a special player who offers the type of playmaking ability on the defensive line that rarely comes along. He has everything that I look for in a future elite defensive lineman in the NFL, capable of having a long, successful career with the team that drafts him. The sky is the limit for how good he can become in the NFL."

From the first article: "Suh is perhaps the best defensive tackle prospect in the last 20 years. Considered a first-round talent entering his senior season, Suh has emerged as clearly the best prospect available in the draft."

I understand Shu is a complete stud. But DT's are simply not valued like a QB and you have the chanch to get one at 1 NFL teams will do it. You have no idea when you will have that chance again. I looked up the 2010 draft and if the rams don't take Bradford who are they going to get to play QB?

Tim Teebow was the only QB drafted in the 1st rd.---BUST

2nd round. Jimmy Clausin BUST,

3rd round. No QB's taken

4th round. Mike Kafka BUST

5th round. John Skelton. BUST. John Crompton BUST

6th round. Rusty Smith BUST Dan Lafever BUST Joe Webb BUST. Tony Pike. Bust

7th round. Zac Robinson BUST

And you can't say well they could have drafted Suh and got a QB the next year. We know that's not realistich and even if they did they would have had to have the #1 pick again to land Cam Newton. What are the chances of that? They picked 14 that year.

1st round Blaine Gabbet. BUST Christine Ponder. BUST.

2nd round. Andy Dalton. This is the first decent QB but the Rams were picking 11 spots behind where he was drafted so not likely an option. Colin Kapernick went right after Dalton.

3rd round. No QB's taken.

4th round. No QB's taken.

5th round. Ricky Stanzi. BUST. TJ Yates. BUST. Nathen Enderly BUST.

6th round Tyrod Tayler. I like him but the Rams didn't have a pick in the 6th

7th round Greg McElroy. BUST

Oh and Smed as you can see for every one Russell Wilson that a team hits on there's 20 or more complete Bust in later rounds. Your odds are much better picking 1.

You are aware there are other ways to obtain a QB, right??? Free agency and the trade market are available if the draft options suck...

Plus, you have said MANY times that our team had no talent back then, if that's true, you do NOT start the rebuild with a QB. A young QB should be one of the last pieces added once you already have talent to block, run, catch, etc... This was a mistake we made with Goff. No o-line and crappy receivers? Let's pick a 21 year old from CAL to lead the team. How was he supposed to do that?

Well the Rams screwed up trading away Bradford so it put them in a desperated situation to move up for a QB because they had all those extra picks to offer up. They knew it would be the only chance they could move up to #1. They believe Goff is the one and he still might work out. Most teams picking 1 don't have good teams but you have to take the QB because DT, CB etc will test the FA market and be gone. If Goff looks like the real deal they can lock him up hopefully and still have a QB. Yes there are other ways to get a QB but it's way more expensive to land a FA. Look at Brock. Plus the player has his choice of teams to pick from.

Again, that's YOUR opinion and one not shared by many fans or professionals... Many believe the Rams screwed up by taking Bradford at all... No Bradford picked, who knows how things go from there? Maybe we would've picked a QB the next year and they would've been successful for us. You can't look at the past and just say bust, bust, bust... Many times it's where the QB goes that makes them successful/not successful... Look at Aaron Rodgers, no one expected him to become one of the top QB's in the NFL, which is why he dropped to late 1st round. Lucky for him, he went to the right team, right coaching staff and it worked out just right...

As for the Free Agency argument, all players can test the FA market and leave... QB's leave all the time, look at Ryan Fitzpatrick. He was a Rams draft pick years ago...

When we reach 100 pages I think we should call it a day

Never speak about Sam again. I got a message from Vita to Just Stop.

Maybe we should stop y'all. Coug isn't gonna back down. Even when Sam is in the nursing home and Coug is changing Sam's pants- he still going to be the best ever

I agree with players landing in the right spot. That makes a big difference. Like Watson going to Houston this year. but the Rams certainly would not have been a good spot 2011,2012 for any QB. They finally had the D built up in 2014 when they got Donald and I believe that's when they traded away Bradford. So now many key pieces of the D are leaving before we can find a QB

Well we can blame Fisher for ALL OF THAT... The idiot completely neglected the offense for years and then tries to make up for it by taking virtually the whole o-line in one draft. You can't do that and expect to be successful... Plus, when we did go offense, we reached with guys like Robinson at #2, which we ALL knew was a disaster as soon as it happened, we were right... You DO NOT take a "project" with the #2 overall pick(unless you're an idiot, which we clearly were)

That's funny

Cause as a Rams fan, I'm hoping Donald and Co. eat Sammy for lunch, maybe even knock him out of the game.

Sam's gone, could care less what he does for the rest of his career, and hope he's eating turf against the Rams.
