Not understanding why we are talking about trading for a catcher when we should be talking about trading a catcher. We have Huff, Trevino, Heim and Garcia and I think we should be looking to trade Trevino in the off-season. Then open next season with Huff and Heim splitting the duty behind the plate with Garcia at AAA in case we need him.

Jose Trevino is a good guy and decent defense but I don’t believe he’ll ever be more than a back up catcher. I would trade him.
Sam Huff I don’t believe will ever play more than 60 games at catcher in the MLB in one season. I think he will be moved to 1B, DH and maybe b/u catcher, catching like 35 games a year. would definitely help with Roster flexibility.
I would retain Jonah Heim just in case.
I don’t think Pozo is the guy either.

I believe catcher is a definite area for improvement for our team. That’s why I mention it.

Okay we agree except I see Huff at minimum catching 81 games a season for at least 2 maybe 3 years before they move him to 1B or DH. We can draft catching prospects. Trading assets away for someone who only blocks movement makes no sense.

I can name 3 catchers that will be available to us in the draft: Daniel Susac Arizona, Kevin Parada Georgia Tech and Logan Tanner Miss. State. All projected right now to go in the top 10 maybe 15

I do think we have plenty of pitching depth and some very nice Arms. If you look at our AA team this year Frisco has one of the best team ERAs in the league
But if you look at Friscos runs scored it’s one of the lowest.
I know we have a few prospects who can hit but I believe the door is opening right now with our pitching and they need to be supplemented with some bats. I believe we need to boost about half of our line up.
