Is this the begining of the end for the CP3 / The Beard dyamic duo?

No, but as a huge Shaq fan I enjoyed it anyway. :)

Fair enough. I was a big Hakeem fan (as well as Jordan) so I was happy too

I just did

So the fact that he was out 1.5 years means he was caught gambling and punished? And it was more than a half year... he came back right around the playoffs after missing the previous year.

Jordan would be out in Atlantic City before a playoff game until 3 am and still drop 40 on Starks. Not seeing the illegal activity or why it was all “covered up”

Loved me some Nick Anderson in college. Those Illini teams were fun to watch

I love me some Scottie but that post is pretty fucking stupid

Trolling aside, I would like an MJ fan explain to me how Pippen won 2 less game when Jordan left to play basketball with essentially the same team.

We wouldn't see that would we?

Regular season? 1991-92 they won 67. 92-93 they won 57. Jordan leaves.
Kukoc shows up so does Longley. Kerr still there Ho Grant still there. 93-94 they win 55. Pippen could be the main dude with a solid team around him. Coach is still good. Defense is still good. Hell they got robbed by in the playoffs against the Knicks who went on to go 7 with the Rockets.

So the short answer is Phil can coach and 55 wins is pretty good?? Not great like they would have been if Jordan was there obviously

Dunno, how did the Warriors never win 73+ WITH Durant? I guess they weren't as good. Adding him was a mistake.

I think it would come out today yes and we’d have a 30 for 30.

Generally I would agree with you, I'm not a big conspiracy guy. But there's enough people interested in keeping this one quiet. Some things are simply not known. Still don't know who killed Biggie and Tupac for example.

Yet it doesn't seem like you need to be the GOAT to get that team to the promised land, it was one hell of a team even without Jordan.

Bottom line here is you can take a key piece out of a great team and a good team is still there. And a good team can do well with a great coach and plenty of talent on the team. B-ball is always going to be 5 guys playing and 5 guys have to get it done. 1 can’t do it alone

The one thing I really enjoy watching with the warriors minus KD is the ball moving selflessly. It may be a jump shot fest but it’s truly a Team game

They really should have but because the W's didn't win the ring with 73 wins, they learned that the effort isn't worth it.

Exactly right. People spend way too much time analyzing 'is this guy better than that guy' and 'add this guy and this team is now better than that team' when it's far more complex and non-linear. Sometimes lesser individuals mesh together well, and well coached teams out play superstar driven teams.

So maybe using regular season wins isn't the only way to judge which team is 'better' than another?
