The Wiz get a healthier player next year who can defend and actually run the team, plus a year off the end of the contract. They then keep Beal and are back in the playoffs, with Howard back from injury as well. They have a lot of players to make decisions on (Ariza - FA, Parker -nonguaranteed, and an assortment of RFAs: Dekker, Portis, Satoransky, Bryant, CRandle).

Makes sense for the Wizards.

Not the Rockets.

Rockets need to try to win now. John Wall does not help them do that.

Also, I am trying to think of a star player in the NBA who would be a worse fit alongside Harden than John Wall. CP3 is being underutilized in Dantoni's offense, but at least he can shoot. Wall playing off the ball with harden on is not something that should interest anyone.

All that said, I hope the Rockets do this!

You’d want the CP3 contract for the next three years?

Realistically next season is probably the last year he’s going to be productive in any way. Then you’re stuck with a 35 year old floor general who can’t run for another $80m

Nope.

But I want Wall's contract for the next 4 even less.

CP and Ball are both PG's...

Hell, to get Harden, Houston will probably insist that you take Chris Paul, too.

I wouldn't be pissed if Detroit traded Drummond for him.

Wouldn't be all that excited either.

The team that makes more sense to show interest for CP3 but packed with Capella is the Magic... It will have to be a 3-team deal where it should look smth like this:

Cavs get (expiring) Mozgov + a 1st from Orlando and another from Houston
Houston receives J.R. Smith (waive and stretch) + Fournier
and Orlando receives CP3 and Capela.

Smth like this would give the Rockets some 35M of breather in cap space, Orlando wouldn't worry on loosing Vucevic in free agency and The Cavs would get 2x1sts for J.R. Smith.

Every single trade idea in this thread makes Houston significantly worse.

They are a legit contender and probably the second best team in the NBA. Chris Paul has an awful contract, but he is still a productive player that can help Houston win.

Trading him in a salary dump move is dumb.

If Houston finds a way to flip a couple pieces that makes them better short term, they should do it. None of these moves are that and any CP3 trade is going to set them back because his contract sucks.

In other words, despite the report, don't be shocked if Houston enters approaches next season with mostly the same roster.

Ingram, Kuz, and the 4th pick for Harden.

I don't want Harden even if he was free. I hate his game with a passion, lol. Plus, he blew up CP3's kitchen and denied it!

Agree. Harden is a far less entertaining version of Westbrook and doesn't play defense.

I like watching Westbrook play...for someone else.

I don't like watching Harden play for anyone.

And denying what he did to CP3's kitchen was a dick move.

Of course it does... It is always the case when a team needs a rebuilt... There two perspectives on the matter... One is the FO's where they see "no light in the end of the tunnel" and money flying away...

The others is the mindless fun's view which is originated from "his dad not paying the bill"... Same with OKC...

 All 4 top teams of the East, would crush the Rockets...

Trading him in a salary dump move is dumb.
You think so, only because your dad doesn't pay the bill... Same with your thoughts with the OKC...

If Houston finds a way to flip a couple pieces that makes them better short term, they should do it. None of these moves are that and any CP3 trade is going to set them back because his contract sucks.

I suggest a brain surgery...

Actually it was you disguised to Harden that blew CP3's kitchen up... Harden is right that is only the beard that makes the stamp on the wall looking like him...
