I think Bryz has got to go also even though i love the way he's playing right now i dont think he is worth that much money for that many years so we may have to sign 2 goalies.

I'm conflicted here. The money he makes is what it is going to take for us to have a good goalie. What we all hate is the length of contract. If we get rid of him and have to go after two goalies then we are right back into the mediocre goalie carousel we've been in for 20+ years. Tough call.

I guess Giroux sucks

Haha we need a larger sample size. I suspect when this season is over that JVR's production will be no where close to Giroux's.

still a long way to go this season, but if bryz continues to play like this, no way in hell the flyers buy him out.. he's been outstanding, unless you're a cynic then he's just been very very good.. dont forget, they have next summer to use the buyout too if bryz were to revert back next season

I'm primarily interested in him for his skating ability and hands. let's be honest we have a few guys who aren't all about finesse now. Also I'm pretty sure Gusty would have to go back the other way, then again I'm also not anywhere near as high on Gusty as a few people on here are.

haha couldn't agree more on the skating ability and hands.. we have read who has decent hands and can skate pretty good.. other than that we dont really have any speed that is a threat to score.. wellwood can freakin fly but he's got stone unfortunately

i think jvr is going to succeed, because i think he has the tools, just need a change of scenery

but i'm not concerned one bit about what he does right now.. Lschenn has been our best dman so far this season.. and considering the play of the forwards, that might mean he's been our best skater so far this season

Oh I know that, but calling Player A's stats unimpressive when you would likely defend Player B's slightly inferior stats is pretty ironic

JVR will succeed there's no doubt in my mind about that, but when you're seeing premium playing minutes including lots of PP time that helps(both things he wouldn't have gotten here until he took a big step forward but to do that he needs constant opportunity, it's a viscous cycle). L Schenn has been way better then I had hoped and he's looking like he'll flourish here. This may be one of the rae cases of a good trade for both teams.

Anyone hear or see any rumor floating in regard to Trading Laughton for Iginla? I think I read it on CSN Philly.

panotch is just stirring shit up.. that'd be such a stupid trade.. and iginla is one of my all-time favorite players.. trade your only really legitimate prospect for half a shortened season to try to get in to the playoffs? what a massive waste.

edit: apparently its not just panotch, but the rest of that statement still stands.

i wouldn't trade for perry either.. he's UFA this summer.. as it stands now, there is absolutely no reason for the flyers to trade for anyone who will be a FA this summer IMO

and with the way the ducks are playing, i highly doubt any of their guys are available anyway

The bolded says it all for me...

Unless a great deal for a Dman falls into Homers lap, I cannot see him doing anything ( at this point ) more than a Knuble type depth player and even that idea is far fetched.
