Salazar coming back is probably part of the reason too.

Kluber
Bieber
Salazar
Plesac
Plutko

Rodriguez, a backend possible starter is still hurt and no timetable on Carrasco but if they can get Carrasco back it would be huge. That still aint a bad rotation as is. They werent winning shit in the playoffs with their lineup though...they needed some pop. They got 2 guys

Think he meant Salazar when he said Santana.

Unless there is a Santana too lol

I mean I love Bauer, he is a unique guy but a magician on the mound. He will be missed. Was having kind of an off year (from his standards) and he just didn't feel comfortable, maybe a change of scenery can change that a bit. Reds are gonna have to be patient with this guy, probably getting $20M this year and he said he will only do 1 year deals for the rest of his career lol.

90% of the 40 man roster is Latinos so I'm sure there is another Santana somewhere lol

But the Indians needed help with their lineup desperately, whenever they play the best teams with the best lineups they just can't match up...I am hoping this trade helps

Bob Nightengale of USA Today hears that the Mariners are willing to eat a "large amount" of the money owed to Mike Leake to facilitate a trade.
Leake is making $16 million this year, due $15 million in 2020, and holds an $18 million club option (or $5 million buyout) in 2021, but the Cardinals are on the hook for $9 million of all that and the M's could knock the price down further. The 31-year-old right-hander would make sense as a veteran innings-eater for a contending team, especially if the cost is low. He has a 4.40 ERA and 1.255 WHIP in 22 starts this season

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, there are "plenty of teams" pursuing White Sox closer Alex Colome.
We've already heard of interest from the Nationals, Phillies, and Braves, and Colome would be a fit for a number of other contenders too, including the Red Sox. Nightengale writes, though, that the White Sox "are currently planning to keep him in hopes of contending in 2020." The 30-year-old right-hander has posted an excellent 2.21 ERA and 0.76 WHIP over 40 2/3 innings this season with Chicago while earning 21 saves on a 46-win team.

In Yasiel Puig and Franmil Reyes, the #Indians become the first team to obtain multiple players who have 20-plus Hrs in a midseason trade. #Elias.

Text from an American League executive: "The Blue Jays' return for Stroman is embarrassing compared to what the Indians just got for Bauer."

An NL exec on the #Indians’ return for Bauer: “They killed this trade.”

— Jayson Stark (@jaysonst) July 31, 2019

With the additions of Puig and the Franimal, I’d advise other teams not to start a fight with the Tribe.

in a 3 team deal the Indians did not get the best player---- the Reds did--- and did not get the best prospect- that was the Padres with Trammel----

ordinarly that would make me flip my shit....

but the depth and quality make it a very very solid trade for the Indians---- especially with their track record of developing pitching. I would bet that either Allen or Moss become a meaningful contributor

Rangers acquired RHP Nate Jones, international slot compensation and cash from the White Sox for RHPs Joe Jarneski and Ray Castro.
Jones had season-ending surgery to repair a torn flexor strain in his right elbow back in May. The Rangers will have options on the oft-injured reliever for 2020 ($5.15 million) and 2021 ($6 million).
Jarneski, 19, was a 12th-round pick in 2017 and has made just 18 appearances in rookie ball. He's merely a flier for the White Sox.

Castro is 22 but has yet to advance past rookie ball. He's a non-prospect.

yah I was gonna say forgot who i think is the best guy.

Indians aren't done from rumors.

Like I said, loved Bauer but SP depth is something they really aren't lacking. Two young studs: Bieber and Clevinger. Hopefully Salazar can get back to form. At least get back Kluber, if not Carrasco. Plesac is also a young stud. I think Reyes is a huge pickup for this lineup that is not very consistent at all

Heard a rumor the Reds could possibly flip Bauer, which is possible, but they gave up a lot to just flip Bauer

That is what Joe Girardi was saying last night on mlbtv, saying it was the only way it made sense.
