Less Bortuzzo, and more Despres, Doumolin and Pouliot.

When this team shifts the bed again, I hope Shero gets rid of Bylsma

Sure, it would have been nice to shore up the D and build a new mindset at the deadline, but the available players just weren't feasible. So to plan B, get some forward depth without giving up much, and I give them a solid B for that effort.

Reports are that Vitale and Engo are sitting tonight. Dan who already irrationally loves Adams, now has an affinity of for Taylor Pyatt?

Vitale is a scratch over those two. Total lost cause.

I'm happy that Shero didn't get the urge to unload Pouliot, Dumolin, Despres, Maatta, Harrington and Bortuzzo at the deadline for rentals. Every one of those guys shows promise in the future, and not only that, but they are all cheap to retain at the NHL level. Next season when it is time to replace Nisky, Orpik and Engelland, those young defensemen will pay dividends because they have cheap entry level deals, which will give Shero flexibility with the cap.

Honestly, I think they need to resign Nisky, 3-4 years, 4.5 million per. Orpik and Engo need to walk, and I'm crossing my fingers they amnesty Scuderi, that deal was a mistake.

I want to see how Scuds fairs in the post-season before I'm willing to see him leave, but I like your idea. Keep Niskanen and shed the three old guys. Lol

Back to backs...Anaheim will destroy this team on the back to back

Goc & Stepniak looked awful last night. Even Glass, Pyatt, & Adams looked better than those 2. Also not a good situation when our best player is a 19 year old rookie dman. Paging Sidney Crosby paging Sidney Crosby, where are you Sid? We need you to step up! Oh and Geno getting raped by Marleau on our own power play was just awesome.

If you don't beat the caps, you might as well not go to the playoffs...

I wouldn't be shocked if we lose both games to the Caps. Right now our best player is a 19 year old rookie dman.

We'll see, think Gibbons needs to sit tonight he was overmatched, and this team needs to get faster; ie Vitale and Megna.

You don't beat big, physical teams with slow guys, you either out physical them, or out quick them. Especially on the bottom six where the 'energy' is supposed to come from.

I say keep Gibbons, but bench Goc & Stepniak in favor of Vitale & Megna.

Are you serious?

Half serious. I don't think it will happen, but Goc & Stepniak looked completely hopeless on both ends of the ice against the Sharks. I don't have any confidence that either one of those 2 will help us beat the Ducks @ Anaheim.

But you have confidence in Adams and Pyatt.

No, none whatsoever, but they actually looked better last night than Goc & Stepniak, who just turned the puck over and allowed Sharks players to skate by them at will. I think that Goc & Stepniak will eventually get better (at least I hope so), but for now they aren't where we want them to be.

Ok, but they are better players than Adams and Pyatt there is really no argument there.
