Lol you wouldn't get 33 for him. You're on crack if you think 1 is even a discussion.

Mark Sanchez if the Jets go with Geno Smith. Harbaugh could get better play out of Sanchez than he did out of Kaeperjackass. Sanchez did pretty well when he had a team around him.

Use the #1 pick on Clowney & team him up w/ Aldon for one of the scariest pass rushes of all time. Trade Brooks.

...I'd rather go w/ Josh McCown as a stopgap than waste one more snap on Kaeperloser. He's small potatoes.

nobody likes a dirty sanchez

Kap is worth way more than a #1 pick. I wouldn't even trade Kap for Texans next 3 1st round draft picks that lets you know how much I believe in him.

It's true. He has done nothing to warrant the number one overall pick. Houston would laugh at you.

He's won 4 playoff games in a season and half as a starter and was one play away from winning 2 more. If Bortles or Bridgewater are in the conversation for #1 it's not even a reasonable argument to say Kapernick isn't worth the pick. He's worth more.

JDM is right, Kap isn't worth the 1st pick. Draft logic isn't rooted in common sense. But regardless, the one thing Bortles & Bridgewater have over Colin is the years they will have on their contracts whereas Kap is looking for a new contract NOW, but the 'rooks would allow the Texans to focus their spending on rounding out the rest of the roster.

There was a moment in another Seattle game when Alex Smith rolled out & threw the ball at his receiver's feet & I realized right then & there he's never going to change. He is what he is. That moment happened for me when Colin Kaepernick...

...Threw that first pick? ...No.

...Threw that second pick??? No.

...HAD A DAMN DELAY OF GAME PENALTY ON 3RD & 1 IN THE NFC F'ING TITLE GAME!!!! :gaah:

His throwing motion will never change. His mental ineptitude will never change. This is who he is. Either Einstein or Franklin (forget who) said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over & over and expecting different results. Kaepernick has more talent supporting him than anyone else in the NFL, and he never got better. He's like a race car drafting behind a great OL & receivers.

I'm done with Colin freeking Kaepernick. Screw him, his gonzo face, his tattoos and his mental mistakes. He's probably better than any QB in the draft (at least right now). I don't see why Houston wouldn't trade the #1 pick for him. And then some.

Holy shit! I love this, and I agree. The whole athletic freak QB that can run bullshit was always a fad that I disliked. We need a QUARTERBACK. Our team is too talented to not be blowing teams out like we did in 2011.

In 2011 we had 7 wins by one score (8 or less). In 2013 we had 3.

In 2011 we had 4 wins by 14+. In 2013 we had 6.

In 2011 we scored 28+ in 3 games. In 2013 we scored 28+ in 8.

Yeah, I long for the days of the blowout victories of 2011 too.

What about the defense?

Well, in 2011 we gave up 20+ in 5 games. In 2013 we gave up 20+ in 7.

In 2011 we gave up 24+ in 2 games. In 2013 we gave up 24+ in 4 games.

In 2011 we gave up 28+ in 0 games. In 2013 we gave up 28+ in 2 games.

These stats do not include playoff games.

In 2011 we scored 380 points. In 2013 we scored 406.

In 2011 we allowed 229 points. In 2013 we allowed 272.

Maybe the perceived blowouts from 2011 you miss so much are more about the defense giving up more points than the offense being less effective?

And just to finish off the idea of the "blowout". . .

In 2011 we won 2 games by 20+. In 2013 we won 4 games by 20+ and 1 more by 19.

We did have a 16 point win in 2011, but that was built off two Ted Ginn return TDs (week 1 vs Seattle). Not the offense.

Possibly. I know that our offense in 2011 also sustained drives much better than Colin Kaepernick run offenses. Time of possession was a big part of game plan back then.

Possibly. I know that our offense in 2011 also sustained drives much better than Colin Kaepernick run offenses. Time of possession was a big part of game plan back then.

According to NFL.com our offense was better at converting 3rd downs and 4th downs in 2013 than 2011. We were 29% on 3rd down conversions in 2011; 36% in 2013. Also, our offense had more first downs and more touchdowns in 2013 than 2011. 32 offensive touchdowns in 2011; 39 in 2013.

We did have more time of possession in 2011 than 2013 (32:07 on average in 2011 compared to 30:34 in 2013). However, how much of that difference is because of our defense and how much is because of our offense? The numbers seem to show that our offense was better in 2013 than 2011.

Does this change your opinion that we sustained drives better in 2011?

Possibly. I know that our offense in 2011 also sustained drives much better than Colin Kaepernick run offenses. Time of possession was a big part of game plan back then.

In 2011 we ran 993 plays. In 2013 we ran 961 plays.

In 2011 we averaged 32:08 in TOP. In 2013 we averaged 30:34 in TOP.

So in terms of plays/game, we averaged 2 more plays per game in 2011 than this year. We held the ball for an extra 86 seconds, which pretty much accounts for 2 plays with a 40 second play clock.

In 2011 we averaged 17.6 first downs per game. In 2013 we averaged 17.9 first downs per game

In 2011 we averaged 5 yards per play. In 2013 we averaged 5.4 yards per play.

In 2011 we converted 29% of 3rd down opportunities (we were 65/221). In 2013 we converted 36% of 3rd downs (we were 77/211).

These are all the easy to find stats (I don't feel like digging up all the 3 and outs from those two seasons), and they all seem to point to you having glorified memories of the 2011 season. None of these stats support your memory.

Furthermore, in 2011 we scored 35 TDs (32 on offense, 2 return, 1 on defense). In 2013 we scored 44 TDs (39 on offense, 5 on defense).

In 2011 we had 52 FG attempts, and made 44. In 2013 we had 36 FG Attempts (made 32).

In 2011 we had 96 "failed drives*" (78 punt, 5 INT, 5 fumbles lost and 8 missed FG). In 2013 we had 101 "failed drives" (79/8/10/4)

To account for fumble luck, we fumbled 14 times (lost 5) in 2011 and 20 times in 2013 (lost 10)

It's important to note these do not account for starting field position. Our defense had many more take-aways in 2011 that would have improved our FP, leading to shorter drives.

I cannot find a single stat that seems to support your memories of the 2011 offense as compared to the 2013 team.

Had I read the entire thread, instead of starting at Rhoji's post and immediately replying I would have noticed most of what I posted had already been stated.

Yes, trade our starting (a young and talented one, at that) QB in the midst of a Superbowl run. Blaine Gabberts has shown us that he can come in and lead this team to a ring.
