I was never talking about the SEC East or West, or B1G East, because they are behind those divisions. They're obviously well ahead of either ACC division overall, and they're ahead of the P12 North.

Last year they were ahead of both ACC divisions, but over the last 3 years, they are basically equal to the Atlantic. And last year they were worse than the P12 North. And the two before that for that matter.

Na last year i would take the B10 W over P12 N
18 would be P12 N over B10 W
i dunno about 17

B10 W was better at the top, but I think P12 North had better depth. All 3 years the P12 North rated better in Sagarin, certainly not the end all be all, but it is a reference point I did find.

also kind of how you look at it
Oregon ended up beating Wisconsin so top team beat top team of the division.
but with the next best N teams at 8-5 while W teams had 11 and 10 wins thats a hard sell.
on the other hand Cal beat Illinois and Stanford beat Northwestern.

A lot wrong in this post, so I'm not sure if serious or not.

Over the last 3 years:

B1G West - 13 bowl eligible teams in total, 7 total ranked teams, 10-3 in bowl games

Pac12 North - 13 bowl eligible teams in total, 5 total ranked teams, 6-7 in bowl games

It's not an extreme difference but I'd still say the edge goes to B10 N. I haven't done the ACC Atlantic, but it's really just Clemson and a bunch of junk.

Pac12 North - 13 bowl eligible teams in total, 5 total ranked teams, 6-7 in bowl games

ACC Atlantic - 16 bowl eligible teams in total, 5 total ranked teams (LOL), 9-10 in bowl games

Overall, B1G W has been the best of these 3 divisions over the last 3 years. Clemson also obviously skews the quality of the ACC Atlantic drastically.

Using bowl record of all things probably isn't the smartest. Overall depth of P12 North is better last 3 years than B1G West.

Define “toughest”. If you mean best teams at the top, it’s the B1G and SEC and no one else very close. If you mean most balanced, the B12 can make a case sone of the time, though not last year. Baylor beat everyone except OU, and Baylor was not a very good team. The conference bottom was not up to its usual standards, either.

I never said it was bad but outside the west, it really isn't as competitive from the top.. But maybe I'm wrong, I mean tosu wasn't nearly that dominant despite the talent level it had in 2018.. now could McMurphy had caused them to play up and down..or being Urban's last year? 2019 was a scary team since they looked like they were on autopilot through conference play. Think the only school that could give them trouble is psu. But I feel that they easily beat them as well.

SEC seems to be open with new QBs at Bama, LSU and GA

Big 12 looks open because ou will be starting a new QB.. osu brings back everyone pretty much including the best RB of 2019 and legit WR Wallace. Texas and Iowa St both bring back it's QBs.
Not sure how a new QB at Bama makes your case. Here are the new QBs at Bama over the past decade:

2009 - Greg McElroy; won BCS
2011 - AJ McCarron; won BCS
2014 - Blake Sims; won SEC & lost in CFP semis
2015 - Jake Coker; won CFP
2016 - Jalen Hurts; won SEC & lost CFPCG
2018 - Tua Tagovailoa; won SEC & lost CFPCG

That isn’t exactly a track record for “struggling with a new QB”. But do go ahead and pin your hopes on a new QB as some harbinger of doom for Bama this season.

I said it looks to be open with new QBs, Bama is favored for a reason however thinking a McCarron or McElroy or Sims is going to cut it with the conference now having true spread teams isn't happening either. I think LSU will revert a little more to 2018 than 2019.. but that's my opinion. GA has a loaded team, once again..and they too now have a spread offense.

article was talking about the 2020 season. They like most have tosu winning the conference by a big margin, again. So outside of the West division, they like most people don't think tosu will have a real test outside the game vs psu.

They feel GA easily should clinch the East and Bama in the West. Could FL or LSU or AU give them a run?

Clemson is head and shoulders better than anyone else in the ACC.

PAC looks to be open as well

Big 12 seems to be open too

That's all it's saying.. toughest conferences to predict.
