That dude who killed his teammate racing his car in a neighborhood at like 85mph (could have killed a lot more people). Fuck that dude and the fact he is still making millions.

Dany effing Heatley . Dooshbag extraodinaire . If it's any consolation he should be gone by 2016 anyways:agree:

Trying not to derail this thread, but I think you should do some research before throwing out statements like the one in bold above.

NHL & WHA Career Playoff Leaders and Records for Points Per Game | Hockey-Reference.com

Crosby is currently 7th all time in points per game in the NHL post-season. Did he have a rough go of it in 2014? Yep. Is it fair to say his production historically wanes in the post-season?

Hell No!

The intent was to cross-reference his own regular season productivity with his playoff productivity, not all-time numbers in relation to others, especially scoring. We all know Crosby is one of the best PPG scorers in NHL history; my contention is that point production is not the only thing that makes a hockey player "the best".

Tie Domi will forever have a tiny place in my heart for coldcocking Ulf Samuelsson - Yeah, it was a dirty sucker punch, but it was a beauty.

And bringing up leadership, as usual, gets a laugh from me. You know what guys are remembered as great leaders? The ones that win. We as fans know only what players and journalists tell us about these guys in the locker room, and even still I don't believe most of it...even though, in his case, his teammates say nothing short of him being their leader and captain. They've both won one Cup. Winners magically become great leaders (Toews, Jonathan) even if we know nothing about it. Moot point.

Great leaders maintain composed and focused in the face of adversity. Great leaders compose their subordinates in the face of adversity. We all see Crosby get knocked off his game and lose his cool in the face of adversity. We don't need to be a fly on the locker room wall to recognize that the Penguins team collectively loses its cool and starts playing dirty and unfocused when Sid loses his cool.

Maybe, but still one of the most underhanded and dirty players on the ice.

Yep, because he's definitely the only player that's ever slashed a guy on the wrist while he had the puck.

Hell, it's pretty easy to find clips of guys slashing players in worse places who don't have the puck and completely behind the play. But because their victims weren't hurt and weren't Mario Lemieux they're nice clean guys I guess.

Nice to see everybody agree on Sean Avery. He is an asshole (doesn't matter what team he is on).

Most others that I hate (or hated throughout the years) are because they are good. Examples; Cindy Crosby and Patricia Roy.

Eric Lindros, I hate him because of the "I don't wanna go to Quebec" thing.

But Sean Avery is a Hall of Fame Asshole (and not in a good way).

As a Red Wings fan didn't you watch the same thing happen to Toews in the series against Detroit just two years ago? He looked and acted frustrated as hell that entire series, but because the Blackhawks ended up winning the series in 7 anyway no one said shit about his "lack of composure" or the fact that he had only 1 goal and was a -3.

Man, you must work for NBC. It's like word for word. Any other captain does that stuff and he's being scrappy and being a leader. You can make good arguments about other players, but when you delve into leadership and heart, you're grasping at straws.

I'm done with this discussion, we've derailed the discussion enough.

Okay, thought I was done, I wasn't...

It's intriguing to me that Toews misses out on some of criticism that Sid does...I think they have extremely similar personalities both on and off ice. Again: winners are immediately regarded as leaders. He's the captain, he gets the accolades. Nothing wrong with that, but it's a simplistic way of looking at a team. You need a combination of leaders. Anyway...I think I'm done now.
