D Hatcher, Avery and Domi (to a lesser extent some of the other assholes on those early 2000s Leafs teams, Corson, Tucker etc.).

Avery is self explanatory.

Hatcher for his vicious elbow to Sykora in game 6 of the 2000 finals (robbed him of the chance to hoist the cup then).

Domi (also self explanatory) but more specifically for his unprovoked, completely behind the play elbow of Niedermayer, only one of the classiest guys to ever play the game, during the 2001 playoffs. I'll never forget the rage of Scott Stevens watching that as he sat in the box. I thought he might get himself ejected/suspended for leaving the box.

Yeah I don't think too many people are upset about fallen Devils.

I judge the FO% based on how he stacks up in the league. He's not elite in that regard, but he's not in the bottom half either.

Comparing this years stats aren't very fair to Zetterberg since he was hurt a lot.

I think that player chart uploaded?

Anyway, his possession numbers are toward the top of league, and his PT/60 are fantastic. In this year, where he was very productive, his PT/60 was down (3.55) . He was at 4.42 last year in 36 games, 5.46 in 22 games the year before, 4.41 in 41 games the before that.

P/60 for Zetterberg in comparison: '10-11 3.06, 11-12 2.55, 12-13 3.05, 13-14 2.08.

CF%rel 5v5: Crosby '13-14 +6.9%, Zetterberg +3.7% (Basically saying the team's possession is that much better with each of those guys on the ice); Crosby '12-13 +8.6%, Zetterberg +1.6%

Now, I'm cherry picking stats, and there are some that Zetterberg is better at, obviously, but those are two stats I personally find valuable.

Thank you for admitting that you are choosing which stats you present that support your opinion and which ones you omit that discredit your opinion based on which ones are more important in your opinion. It's better than we would get out of a lawyer or politician.

I don't have any of your neat stats in front of me, so I can't use the numbers for counterpoints to show how Crosby is not sooo much better than everybody else, even someone like Zetterberg who is rarely in the Top 10 discussion. There is one neat little counterpoint I'd like to make: Zetterberg's overall production goes up in the playoffs when it's do or die and the competition is stiffer; Crosby's production wanes and so does his leadership. Do you have any advanced metrics for heart and balls?

Trying not to derail this thread, but I think you should do some research before throwing out statements like the one in bold above.

NHL & WHA Career Playoff Leaders and Records for Points Per Game | Hockey-Reference.com

Crosby is currently 7th all time in points per game in the NHL post-season. Did he have a rough go of it in 2014? Yep. Is it fair to say his production historically wanes in the post-season?

Hell No!

Contrary to popular belief: Sid's postseason point production is solid. But it's all Sid's fault that the team hasn't had postseason success? Should I blame Zetterberg for the Wings not getting past the second round since '09? No...because that's certainly not fair.

NHL All-Time Playoff Points per Game Leaders

There's a fun stat. Zetterberg is #55, which is not shabby either...but your argument about that isn't fully valid. And bringing up leadership, as usual, gets a laugh from me. You know what guys are remembered as great leaders? The ones that win. We as fans know only what players and journalists tell us about these guys in the locker room, and even still I don't believe most of it...even though, in his case, his teammates say nothing short of him being their leader and captain. They've both won one Cup. Winners magically become great leaders (Toews, Jonathan) even if we know nothing about it. Moot point.

I did kind of a hybrid.

Guys that are hated in general that I had a distaste for as well. My own list would look different for sure.

I always hated Tie Domi. Loved when he turtled against Jim McKenzie when Mac went after him for his cold cocking Niedermeyer in the playoffs:

For those of you who weren't lucky to be there as I was.

BTW the Devils won that in OT despite the early leafs goal and the 7 minute penalty. I believe Elias had a hat trick (not sure).

I hated that hit on Sykora.

I hated seeing Marty's wife every break in the action even more.

I really hated Arnott.

Interesting read on this, good thread. Not surprisingly, most are interpreting the thread as "guys from the 90s, 00s and 10s that I really dont like". And thats all good.

But a list of all time most hated has to include fellows like Ted Lindsay and Eddie Shore.

See post #1, good ol' Eddie is there. It's the all time list!!

He was too busy going after noted heavyweight Magnus Arvedson.
