Don Sutton set the record in the mid eighties for consecutive seasons with 100 strikeouts at 18 or 19. There were only a few pitchers that could bring a 95 MPH fastball in Banks era.

Yes but today's game is dominated by the all or nothing hitter, Jeter was more of a slap hitter. His SO% is too high for the type player he was, but not by as much as what some want to say.

With the ERA he played in and the type of hitter he was, I would guess similar players struck out at about a 10-12% rate.
