I used the previous years stats when I did it. My stuff was 100% based off stats.

There are a few teams that jump around, but the bulk of college football pretty much stays about the same.

Oh for crying out loud. Just because the NCAA has a method that is all based on records does not mean that that is how Athlon's list is comprised.

How about you use a little bit of common sense. Given that no games have been played this year, the ONLY thing that that list can be based on is an estimate of how last year's results might inform speculation as to who will be good this year. Even if the Athlon's list is based on a poll, it is still based on opinions. But mostly, I think it is just clickbait.
