The fuck? Mahomes does everything Brady did and then can use his legs. He’s the better player. Football is a team sport, Brady didnt beat Mahomes himself. Rings are also team accomplishments unless you think Eli Manning is better than Dan Marino. Eli is also better than Brady by your metric

Haven’t looked at tight ends but Kelce is probably better than Gronk. Gonzalez is GOAT over both
Couldn’t disagree more. There is not a single player in any sport that dictates the outcome of a game more than the QB in football(maybe a hot hockey goalie is close). Brady and Mahomes met several times with very evenly matched teams. These were mostly huge games in the postseason, too. And Brady beat Mahomes soundly in those games. Again, if Mahomes gets to more than 7 rings, I’ll reconsider this and give him the nod.

For the record, Dan Marino was the Matt Ryan of his day.

Yadi was a poor man’s Pudge. A poor man’s Fisk. And he didn’t even own a bat.
Like I said, only 2 years of being a great player but always a great defensive catcher. There are some stats that would suggest Molina was actually the best defensive catcher but I think the difference between him and the others is pretty minimal where as the bat is night and day.

I have Brady as the GOAT but Mahomes had a trash defense until recently. Brady outdueled Mahomes by playing against guys like Daniel Sorensen and Dee Ford.

Getting drafted didn’t prevent Williams or Mays from being top 5. Ohtani is what he is and I’ll keep nominating him. He won’t be top 10 here anyway but maybe top 15-20
Ohtani is the second best player I’ve ever seen(behind Bonds). I don’t think it’s particularly close, either. I only go back to the early-80’s, but he’s ahead of Griffey, ARod, Trout, Clemens, Manny, Randy, Maddux, Pedro, Schmidt & Brett in my eyes(those guys are in no particular order). And he’s still only 30.

Let’s stick a fork in the football talk. Talking about all time baseball players not in contention for the slot in question is one thing. Having a page+ discussion about an entirely different sport is something else entirely.

Yes I get why many say it’s way too soon he hasn’t played long enough but he’s uniquely gifted enough to get my vote anyway

Agreed it was just me explaining why I vote for someone still building their resume

I have no idea how this doesn’t get brought up every time his name is ever uttered.

Well, of course you are wrong here. But you are just trying to be edgy with this take and I’ll let you have it. Nobody agrees with you, either. So, perhaps you could be wrong here?

“Yeah, but Mahomes can run!”

Weak sauce.

Lots of people agree with me, but only the ones who understand the game well

Might take a look at the best QBs in the game. They all use their legs better than Brady ever could.

I could get into it. There are definitely 2 major outlier stats that would support Mahomes as the GOAT. Its just that we're talking about baseball here.

What is this?
Are you serious?

Yadi blocked a ball in the dirt, but couldn’t find where the ball went. He stood, looking for the ball, and he had so much stickum on his chest plate, the ball was stuck to him like one of those Velcro balls. ESPN mentioned it really quick, then never mentioned it again.

Amazing white wash by the MLB.

Well that’s why I didn’t remember it, they whitewashed it. Thanks.

Haven’t looked at tight ends but Kelce is probably better than Gronk. Gonzalez is GOAT over both

Not to derail the thread, but if we're taking both blocking and receiving into the equation, Gronk is easily the best TE ever. There might not even be a close second, as he was basically a bigger, faster Mike Ditka.

Gronk was the Randy Moss of receiving TEs and was like having an extra offensive tackle in the running game.

Gonzalez has the cumulative stats, but he played in a lot more games than Gronk. Gronk has him beat in both yards and TDs per game.
