I like voting for three.... and as s Sox fan, I like seeing The Kid getting votes, even though he's not on my top 5...

this just got hard... didnt think 2nd was hard as i thought it was a clear cut bonds.... and third would have then been Mays for me...

but knocking both off the board, makes this hard...

is it Ted Williams who you would normally think, but playing his entire career before expansion, and much of it before blacks really started playing baseball in the MLB. I got to ding him... then he also was a terrible defender and played a non premium defensive position... and never won a WS... all major dings...

I wanna give Mike Schmidt a real chance here, but his playoff numbers were very sub par...

but i think those are my top 2... here... just not clear who would take the win... i am going to throw a third because i can... but i dont want to open up the pitching can of worms up yet...

so i will probably default at Hammering Hank...

I think Ohtani WILL be in this conversation. But he isn’t there YET. If he were on a plane with all the other doggies and the plane went down in a flaming fireball, and all the players ended up dying 3 days later while suffering in agony for those last 3 days of their lives, would he have done enough to be discussed at this point in the list?

Sorry, got caught up in a nice daydream there for a minute…

not IMO he is not.... he is 2... if the board says Mays was better because Bonds cheated, i dont want to waste my time with a runoff where everyone is just going to say they wont vote for bonds because he is a cheater...

@MilkSpiller22

Not sure why you think you have to knock both Mays AND Bonds off the board. That strikes me as very “I’m taking my ball and going home” to me…

You know I respect your contributions and most of your takes, but this is just ghey.

Sorry. It is.

i mean, i am still participating fully with my opinions... just dont want to waste my time having a runoff with bonds again, when we will hear the same thing over and over... he is a cheater, he wont win...

And yet, he currently leads the poll at this point, with the guy who, imho, he should be competing against.

This is a poll about opinions. Just because everyone doesn’t agree with YOUR opinion, you are throwing a temper tantrum. I voted Mays #1, but I was 100% AOK with it going to Ruth. I voted Mays #2, but I would have been 100% AOK if Bonds took it.

if bonds is in the runoff and needs a vote to win i will be happy to be that vote... but i want to give other players a chance to be in a runoff...

some players, like Schmidt, should be considered but people forget about, i would rather put the seeds in for him to win, than see bonds in a runoff he will lose again in...

and yes, i do think schmidt should be considered here...

I see Schmidt entering the convo in the 5 - 7 neighborhood. Right about the same area as Aaron and Henderson. I see 3 = Bonds, 4 = Williams, and 5 will be HARD (Robinson, Hornsby, Henderson, Aaron, Schmidt, etc getting consideration from me)

Picking just three turned out to be more difficult that I thought. Alotta great players. I went old school. Taking into consideration the ball parks back in the day were much bigger.

Im not sure I'd even consider him until around 12-15 range.

Can anyone make a legit argument for someone other than Bonds or Williams in this spot?
