Leach....?........
Competition is a bit too fierce.
Leach....?........
Smart should be number 1 base on the talent he already has on campus. tosu had a great 2020 class and a special one so far for 2021, but the talent on Jawja's roster right now is better than tosu outside QB. But man.. when it comes down to actual coaching.. he should be no lower than 3. Not sure what people see in Mullen1. Day
2. Riley
3. Mullen
4. Smart
5. Kelly
Based on what? I'd give them the RB position, but where else are they better?Smart should be number 1 base on the talent he already has on campus. tosu had a great 2020 class and a special one so far for 2021, but the talent on Jawja's roster right now is better than tosu outside QB. Until Brian Kelly proves he can develop a QB to that sort of level, I can't take him seriously as a NC-caliber coach. Unlike the other guys on the list, he's been at ND for a long time, and still has the same issues.1. Day

DL? DB? OL? bro they been getting bluechips. I would take Fields and the WR group but GA has players. Could they be used in better ways, yes, but I would take their roster.. shit man they got Ringo who will likely start since he's that good coming out of high school. Maybe in 2021 tosu will be better but right now I think GA holds the edgeBased on what? I'd give them the RB position, but where else are they better?
The 10 coaches most likely to win first national championship
Very interesting list, I'll post it below. There is further detail in the link for each pick.
1. Ryan Day - Ohio State
2. James Franklin - Penn State
3. Dan Mullen - Florida
4. Lincoln Riley - Oklahoma
5. Kirby Smart - Georgia
6. Brian Kelly - Notre Dame
7. Mario Cristobal - Oregon
8. Tom Herman - Texas
9. Gus Malzahn - Auburn
10. Josh Heupel - UCF
Oh I get that the path to the championship is probably why Day is #1 since Kirby gets stumped at the CCG. But for whatever reason, as much as Kirby gets caught during conference play, he still is consistent in beating Florida.. Be interesting to look back at this in 4 yearsMullen is awesome. I'm higher on him than most. What he did at Miss St hasn't been seen before, especially doing it in a era where Bama, LSU and Auburn all had things rolling in a positive way. OSU has the easiest path which is why I have Day #1. They don't have to deal with a team like Bama/LSU/Auburn in the West. UF had UGA. No doubt he has a ton of talent at UGA.

He does have the Gators number right now though. I'll give him that.
They added the caveat that he wouldn't win one at UCF, but he's positioning himself for a spot at a major P5 soon where he could win one shortly. Then again, they said the same thing about Scott Frost...
It sounds like you know more about Georgia than OSU, but we have blue chippers across every position. We've been churning out elite defensive linemen for years with Larry Johnson. We lost Chase Young, and we're still gonna have a 5* DE and another high 4* (top 35 nationally ranked) DE following him up as starters. We have another two former 5* defensive players from 2018 that are just this year finally going to be able to potentially crack the depth chart. We still have three former 5* players from that all-time 2017 class that are starters in 2020 and will likely be 1st/2nd rounders in 2021. And when has OSU ever failed to churn out elite defensive backs? We're DBU for a reason. Our OL has 3 guys that will push to be high-round picks next year as well.DL? DB? Georgia is talented, sure, but to say they're more talented than OSU is just foolish.
Seriously? That was not remotely close to being a NC caliber offense, and Kizer wasn't even a top 25 QB in 2015. That's just silly. He's gotten good QB play. The problem with ND is it never aligned with the other side of the ball. Our 2015 offense was Championship caliber, our defense was just atrocious though. Kizer was really good that year. But we lost by 2 to Clemson and Stanford by 2. If you put that offense with any of our defenses from the last 3 seasons we are in good shape. Our problem is we wasted our best QB with awful defenses.
Take a look at the average recruit ranking over that 4 year period. OSU's is 93.14 while UGA's is 93.01. It's not only about recruiting stars though. It's the ability to develop them. In the last 2 years, OSU has put almost as many players in the NFL as UGA has in the last 4.The last 4 classes:
UGA: #3(2017), #1(2018), #2(2019), #1(2020)
OSU: #2(2017), #2(2018), #14(2019), #5(2020)
I don't think it's foolish to say they are more talented than OSU, it's a correct statement based on the recruiting rankings the last 4 cycles. I will note the 2018 class included Fields for UGA and not for OSU in 2019 so that would certainly change these around a little bit. But just basing on these rankings UGA is probably more talented. But it may not matter because OSU is way ahead at the QB position.

I was wondering if you by chance meant 2016 (Kizer's second season), but the same thing is true then.Seriously? That was not remotely close to being a NC caliber offense, and Kizer wasn't even a top 25 QB in 2015. That's just silly.
