I'd start off with Ruggiano & Stubbs, Rua and Jones are optionable later on if needed

This isn't to say Rua hasn't earned it, but if he's going to be a backup here, I'd prefer they try and find a place for him to start in AAA or get more playing time instead, same with Jones, through I don't really care if it's Ruggiano/Jones, or even just Ruggiano....

I'd consider Ciracio (sp.) if he could play SS, which I'm not sure he could do and put Alberto in AAA for the same reasons that I mentioned with Rua & Jones

Interesting, that would certainly play a factor in him wearing down at the end of a long season if he has sleep apnea or other related issue

Disjointed sleeping? Not sure what that is, but doesnt sound fun!

Prince Fielder dealing with sleep issues, sent to Dallas for evaluation

Rangers DH Prince Fielder has been sent back to Dallas as the team looks for the cause of his persistent sleeping problems, reports Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News. He's expected to rejoin the team Saturday.

"It sounds like he's having disjointed sleeping,'' said assistant GM Thad Levine to Fraley. "We figured at this time of year, rather than asking him to gut it out, why not have him evaluated?''

Fielder, 31, told the club he's been unable to get a good night's sleep this spring. He's expected to undergo a sleep study in the coming days.

Last season Fielder rebounded from neck surgery to hit .305/.378/.463 (126 OPS+) with 23 home runs and 98 RBI. He played 139 of his 158 games at DH.

Disjointed sleeping?

My gosh. There's a medical term applied to everything these days.

But it sure sounds like the Rangers are handling it perfectly. No reason not to take every precaution, and get the proper diagnosis.

Was listening to a local sports radio program this morning and they talked about a conversation that they had with Hamilton earlier today. Josh says he is still in a lot of pain. They said they could see the frustration in his eyes as he talked about it.

Not a lot of baseball in the guys future, too much talent wasted. I would have loved to see someone else get what he chose to piss off. Boy was he good in 2010 though

Choo out trying to take an extra base. Not sure we need super-aggressive baserunning this soon, but whatever.

We must be leading ST in runners out on the base paths other than the normal DP/fielder choice.

I expect our guys (players/coaches) are getting adjusted to game speed and are a little anxious at this juncture. I would think in reg season baseball, while they are aggressive, they are also a bit more cautious when considering running into outs? That or maybe they are just wide open all the time? HAHA!
