Just an FYI, all in-market teams are blacked out. I recently became a cord-cutter, and unfortunately, that means no Rangers games on TV for me.

You obviously weighed the pros/cons and the decision came out cordless. But tell us why please?

Cost. Most of the shows I watch are available online for free, you just have to wait a day or a week, depending. To be fair, I am on a friend's Netflix account so I have that going for me. Also have an Amazon Prime subscription. Now, live sports is another animal. Not sure how football will work... I made the switch during the break before the Super Bowl (which CBS streamed live).

Live baseball is obviously the biggest thing I will miss out on, and if MLB.TV didn't have their absurd blackout rule, I probably would have that. Don't watch any other sports, so those won't affect me. In the end, I'm saving about $60-$75 a month, so I made the call.

Ranger TV play by play could use some improvement anyways. Live streaming is better or a stop at your local dive. I downsized cable and on he increase internet wise via Fios. A day is coming when I stream everything but not there yet. Rangers head and shoulders above all TV viewing for me. If I was single probably not have cable

No wife, no kids, so it made it easier for sure. Sports bar about a 5 minute drive away as well.

Beltre gets a fat f**kin' meatball down the middle, singles in first AB. Drives in DDJ who doubled and was on third thanks to a Choo single.

Loving the results from the new hitting coach.

An update from Jeff Zimmerman on his velocity analysis comparing ST velocities to those from last year. Holland has been added this time and his velocity was only down .4 MPH from last year. Colby still leads in biggest drop off so far at 3.6 MPH.

Ryan Cordell also makes the list of top corner outfielders as he checks in at #34.

Gonzalez focused on mental part of pitching

"My scouting report got out," Gonzalez said. "I was throwing the sinker in and the slider away. I was basically alternating those pitches, and it worked for four starts. Then teams started figuring it out."

So the bottom line for Gonzalez is, he needs to use all four of his pitches. He is still going to rely on the hard sinker but he needs a slider above 85 mph, a changeup below that line, and a curveball to keep hitters off balance. He does not have overpowering stuff, but has always been considered a pitcher with savvy, good mound presence and a feel for pitching.
