I think public pressure in Boston is exploding on this subject. Consistent mediocrity (used on radio this a.m.) cannot be our reputation.

Pressure is on for better results by the fan base than getting to AFC championship

For the most part every team has its ups and downs but the pats will still be in the mix even though they're in a semi-rebuild. I'm just happy that Hickey has diagnosed the problems with the Fins and is attempting to fix them. If he's successful the Fins should be right there this year.

Doesn't matter.

"Tom Brady makes everyone around him a superstar."

Strange because for the last 15 years Pats fans have been shouting their greatness from the rooftops. Now all the sudden it's "consistent mediocrity?"

Interesting!

Lol at referring to the Patriots as consistent mediocrity. Boston fans are spoiled. Crying because they aren't winning the super bowl every year. Marlins would have a top 3 pick.

I would think every fan of which ever team would want their team to win the Super Bowl. Do you not want that? I mean we all know it's not going to happen but I think we should all want that. And we are aware of when our last Super Bowl victory was are you? Its been a while I think it's reasonable to be frustrated.

Frustrated, sure, but they are legitimately in the hunt every year, have almost entirely rebuilt the team from the ground up, and are sure to be among the favorites again next year. Since Belichick took over they have won 14 more games than the next best team, at more than 100 games over 500.

They've fallen short but mediocrity is a little harsh.

Agreed it was harsh but there is no denying we are in full blown bridesmaid mode.

One minute?

"Tom Brady can make anyone a superstar."

Next?

"We're losing all our talent!"

One minute?

"We're the greatest ever!"

Next?

"We're consistently mediocre."

Pats fans. Just wow. :L

You must not realize that they haven't won shit in a decade and they're finally starting to admit it.

Things are changing in the division like I was saying (and you guys were pooh-poohing) all season long.

The NFL is a single elimination sport. The Patriots go deep in the playoffs every year because they know what they are doing. It's as much as you can ask for, imo. Injuries defeated them last year. This year's draft class might be the deepest wr class ever. They aren't the Marlins. Theyre the Rays or Cardinals

Going deep into the playoffs is cute but does not negate the fact that every teams goal is the Superbowl. they are the Marlins in relation to letting veteran talent walk.

The Patriots DON'T "go deep in the playoffs every year" but even if they did, no one gives a shit.

You said Miami would win the East and they didn't though. Maybe the Jets have a small chance this year but no way will Miami or Buffalo sniff the East with their current regimes.

Patriots are nothing like the Marlins. Patriots are moneyball, longview, buy low, sell high, positional value, efficiency orientation sons of bitches looking at every angle trying to get every ounce of advantage.

Sell high what exactly did they get in the Talib deal?

They don't have to deal with Talib when character issues come up again. You got him cheap for a reason
