Man....You just don't know the game. Sorry dude.
I know they shouldn't have made it. Just because they're in the elite 8 that's not changed. Being an average ACC team and then losing to a fellow bubble team in the ACC tourney shouldn't cut it. I'm not surprised though, committee loves the power 5 teams.

I wish the ACC was split into divisions like the football teams are so there is a round robin season instead of the staggered system they use now. Hokies may not have been deserving of a bid. But they did beat UVA.

They definitely didn't deserve a bid. They were truly awful in the non conference. While they did beat UVA they also lost to Alabama State.

The ACC is doing well, but it was a busted bracket and the ACC took advantage in fairness.
It happens.

The ACC played a 15, 14, 12, and an 11 in the SECOND ROUND.
They should have played a 2, 3, 5, and 6 instead.

That had to have helped a lot.

The ACC should not apologize for everything breaking in front of them.....but lets not go all SEC Football now.

Like I said...you know little about bball. SU played UNC twice, Duke at Cameron, UofL twice.

When you play on the left coast.....you just don't have to deal with that. Move to the ACC and you're boys wouldn't make it out of December alive.

Damn, that was the first game of the season for them. Was that part of the eye test you were using? LOL

Brownell's Clemson teams usually shit the bed in the non-conference, while stepping up their game during ACC play. Clemson hasn't made the NCAAT since Brownell's first year. That's pretty much exactly what VT did this year.

We had like the 330th oldest team (out of 351). That was their first game. Not a good indicator of where the season went.

@Bolts

SU played 12 games against NCAA Tournament teams this season prior to the NCAA tournament.

3 of those teams are in the E8. 4 counting SU.

When you play that schedule....you get an invite when you're on the bubble.

Yes, the ACC has some good teams I get it. You also went 1-3 in those games(only play the birds once), lost to fellow bubble team PITT 3x, lost to Clemson, FSU, and St. Johns. I'd GLADLY have SDSU move into a conf. like the ACC, I'm sick of being in a mid-major conf. where you have to go to extra mile to have the committee give you a deserving seed(or put you in at all). Would they win the conf.? Doubtful, but I think they'd hold their own with some of the top teams in any of the power 5 especially considering the recruiting classes would likely get better.

If we would have beat Miami (again) to get to the ACC Tourney semis - and put us at 20 wins and 12 ACC wins, I think we should have had a decent shot at a bid.

VA TECH was not a tournament team.

14 loss teams almost never make it.

I think only 7 times since the tournament expanded to 64 teams (31 years ago) has a 14 loss team made it.

And never a team outside of its conference top 4 teams made it with 14 losses (Tech was 7th place)

ACC was tough but 7th place is too low.

I believe the Hokies were within 1 or 2 wins of getting in. Hell, they beat UVA, Miami, and Pitt, all NCAA Tourney teams. The losses to Iowa St, Saint Joes, and West Virginia hurt as bad as the Northwestern game.

Last I checked it still counts though.
