No suspension for Nicholls - Oh well, his WHL season ends tonight.

/WHL is going to be embarrassed by the Blades in the Memorial Cup.

I wonder if a Memorial Cup host has ever failed to win a playoff game before. My guess would be no.

Tigers are 20 minutes away from sweeping the Blades - 3-0 after 40 minutes for the good guys.

the Blades. Keep it classy Blades (friggin goon tactics at the end of the game). Nicholls is a real tough dude when the officials are around protecting him.

Congrats Dash. Pretty sweet win and probably a little bit historic as well. If by some miracle Saskatoon wins the Memorial Cup, Medicine Hat should be able to claim the trophy from them.

lol - What does Saskatoon do for the next 51 days waiting for the Memorial Cup to start? Looks like the Tigers will be facing the Oil Kings in the next round, that will be a tough series.

/Go Chiefs, big game tonight.

The Regina Pats hosted the Memorial Cup in 2001 and exited the WHL playoffs in the first round (Eastern Conference quarter-final). I don't know if they were swept though.

So yup there it is. The Chiefs had a 3-1 lead with 6 minutes left in game 4 and coughed it up. OT again. This series should be over. Can a team I root for please not fucking choke a game away? I'm gonna fucking lose it if they blow this game.

Wow.

For a Memorial Cup Host to not even win a single playoff game is pretty pathetic.

Well Blake Gal saves what little sanity I have left and the Chiefs win game 4, 4-3 in OT and lead the series 3-1.

Niagara lost 4-1 tonight & are down 3-1 in their series against Oshawa. 1 more loss & Ryan Strome will head to Bridgeport.

That might be good for Strome. A good OHL playoff run would be nice but his team just isn't that good. He's struggled in these playoffs; I think Strome is counting down the days to his pro career.

Agreed. Too good to still be in the OHL but not quite ready for the NHL. The AHL would have been the best fit for him all season long but was never an option until now (not quite yet but almost).

The Hamilton brothers are gone as are a few others. Niagara is overmatched in a big way. From what I understand Strome has taken a few bad penalties, but maybe it's because he's trying to do too much. I was surprised they won a game in this series.

He'll sign an ATO & join the Soundtigers probably next week. I doubt the Isles will burn a year of his ELC.

I'm pretty sure that Strome has already signed an ELC; ATO is not necessary. I'm not sure about that.

I also think that CHL players playing for the farm team and playing less than 10 regular season games (which Strome would do) don't burn a year.

In short, if Strome is done with his OHL season, he'll be in Bridgeport.
