TSNBobMcKenzie: WHL will have its Bantam Draft lottery on Wednesday. Vancouver Giants currently own 1st pick, have a 12 in 21 chance of retaining it.

It's too bad they can't draft this kid: DYLAN STROME 60 games 65G 78A 143PTS for the Toronto Marlies.

Ryan Strome's little brother.

Medicine Hat takes game one from the Memorial Cup hosts by a score of 4-1. Go Tigers!

Pretty disappointing crowd in Saskatoon last night (attendance was only 4778). Maybe people are saving their money for the Memorial Cup in May.

What's wierd is that I believe in a lot of the cases, you get priority to purchase Memorial Cup tickets if you are a season ticket holder and purchase the full playoff package that season. At least I know that's what the Moncton Wildcats did when they hosted in 2006. Then again, when did I start using the Moncton Wildcats as an example one should follow?

If Saskatoon is a dominant team, which I believe you or someone else in this thread mentioned they were, people may not be too interested in the opening round lopsided games. I know the past 3 years in SJ crowds really didn't start to pick up until the 3rd round. Not sure what Saskatoon's capacity is but 4500-5000 in a 6500 capactiy arena was pretty standard for the first few rounds here. I'm guessing Saskatoon can hold more than that and has a larger population to draw from though.

CUC in Saskatoon holds around 14,000. Attendance for the Blades has always been pretty lackluster. It would probably help if Saskatoon would ever do anything in the playoffs. They're like the Sharks of the WHL. Despite the fact that they are guaranteed a spot ind the Memorial Cup, I think the fans know what's coming. However, you would think they could fill half the building for a playoff game in a Memorial Cup year.

Yeah, population of Saskatoon is around 210,000 or so and growing quickly (lots of people moving to Saskybush these days for jobs, lower cost of living etc.).

Somebody needs to tell Kootenay that the playoffs have started - Edmonton leads them 5-0 after the 1st period of game 1 of their playoff series.

You know what's better than winning one playoff game on the road? Winning two playoff games on the road. Tigers victorious again tonight by a 3-0 count. Cam Lanigan with the shutout.

/Blades have lost 10 consecutive playoff games.
