Tigers with a tough back-to-back this weekend, in Edmonton tonight to play the division leading Oil Kings, then returning home to face the second place (by one point) Calgary Hitmen tomorrow night.

/Edmonton played last night (lost 4-1 to Red Deer), so maybe they can catch a tired team tonight.

pretty good OHL game on SNET right now
Belleville Bulls (Brendan Gaunce, Malcolm Subban) vs Niagara IceDogs (Ryan Strome, Brett Ritchie)

3-2 Belleville midway through 2nd.
Belleville just killed a full 2 minute 5 on 3, entire time in their zone.

Gaunce with a power move down the wing, looking like a young Trevor Linden
and Cardwell follows up a minute later to make it 5-2 before the end of the period

Tigers get a big road win in Edmonton 2-1. Shinkaruk (who missed the Top Prospects game with flu) didn't play tonight either.

Great weekend for the Tigers as they shutout Calgary 4-0 tonight in Medicine Hat. Keep it going boys.

Chiefs are in a big time funk. 6-9-1 in the last 16 games. With Portland running away with the US division (kudos to Bolts for calling that one) and Kelowna and Kamloops having good seasons the Chiefs really can't move up in the standings, however I would like to see them manage to hang on to home ice for the first round. Team's better than what they've been playing recently, time to right the ship!

I didn't look far enough ahead on the schedule as the Tigers played Red Deer last night and shut out the Rebels 3-0. 3 games in 3 nights and emerge with six points against quality opponents, gotta like it.

Nothing like a 5-2 win over the Winterhawks earlier today to start righting the ship.

Niagara is without Hamilton & have already traded away a couple of overagers. It's really too bad they didn't trade Strome & Ritchie.

Tigers lose a close one to Kootenay 3-2 tonight...Kootenay is the hottest team in the WHL (currently on a five game winning streak and 9-1 in their last 10)

And yet another win for the Chiefs over the Winterhawks (this time 5-4 in a shootout). I'd say the ship has been righted.

I'd say so. The Chiefs play their third straight game against Portland on Friday and then Medicine Hat comes to town on Saturday. Should be an interesting weekend.

Tigers with another great two games this weekend, defeated Tri-Cities 6-5 on Friday night and then squeaked out a 4-3 win over Spokane. The team has been in very nice form as of late and I hope it continues.

I'm surprised an active referee would have a twitter account (sounds like an attention whore).

With what the Islanders have on defense right now Kichton would have a chance making the top 8 spots.

Criticism of Sault lands OHL ref in hot water | Local Hockey | Sports | Sault Star

referee scheduled to work a game at Soo St Marie
(@MONZY25): Soo Saint Marie, two words, Slim Pickens. #noteeth #hicktown #allfaties.

Update:

An Ontario Hockey League referee’s controversial Twitter post has cost him a lot more than the hostility of some hockey fans.

The OHL announced Wednesday that Joe Monette has been suspended for the balance of the 2012-13 season as well as the playoffs for his disparaging tweet about the city of Sault Ste Marie.

Monette was in Sault Ste. Marie on Friday to officiate a game between the Greyhounds and Windsor when he posted “Soo Saint Marie, two words, Slim Pickens #noteeth #hicktown #allfaties.”

Just wanted to resurrect this one to point out that the Tigers are now 6th in the Eastern Conference after putting a nice little win streak together. Shinkaruk is having a good season (i.e. should go in the top-10 of the NHL entry draft), but undrafted Curtis Valk actually leads the Tigers in goal-scoring this season. The 20 year old is definitely in the Tyler Ennis mode, but I think somebody will snatch him up this year.

might as well update my team as well.
still no goalie, still a shitty team, but have a pretty good shot at landing Tyler Bensen in the bantam draft

33 games, 57 goals, 89 assists for 146 points
not bad, not bad...
