Well with Jonathan Huberdeau heading to Team Canada's camp tomorrow he most likely played his last game as a Sea Dog. Most figure if the lockout continues beyond the World Juniors that he'll likely be traded to a Memorial Cup contender for a pile of future assets to help the Sea Dogs' rebuild. If it was his last game, he sure went out with a bang but not the way one would have expected.

3 - SNB Jonathan Huberdeau, 15:38 - High-sticking, (1.26) (PP)
3 - SNB Jonathan Huberdeau, 15:38 - Instigator, (1.4)
3 - SNB Jonathan Huberdeau, 15:38 - Fighting, (2.2)
3 - SNB Jonathan Huberdeau, 15:38 - Instigator - Misconduct, (3.4)
3 - SNB Jonathan Huberdeau, 15:38 - Abuse of officials - Game Misconduct, (4.91)
3 - SNB Jonathan Huberdeau, 15:38 - Fight in the final 5 minutes of regulation time, or anytime of the overtime - Game Misconduct, (4.2)

The craziness starts at about 3:16. He also had a nice short-handed assist starting at about 2:35.

On another note, this Mooseheads team reminds me a lot of the Sea Dogs from the past few seasons. Score should have been much worse. It will all depend on what happens during the trading period and who gets Huberdeau. I don't think Halifax needs Huberdeau but I don't think they can afford to let him go to another contender. He may have burnt his bridge with them. He played with MacKinnon and Drouin at the Subway Series and they played well but he has now fought 2 Moosehead players this season as well. It will be interesting to see what happens.

It's nice to see Huberdeau has added grit to his game. LOL!!

From TSN Research:

Seth Jones closing in on two months without a minus game. 20 straight even or better. Also riding 9-game point streak.

Did Crosby sign any endorsement deals at 15?

SportsCentre: REPORT: Connor McDavid, 15-year-old hockey phenom, and Reebok close to multi-year deal. #TSN

Camp started today in Calgary and he's a lock for the team, thus he'll have a nice four game hiatus upon returning from Russia.

Was Huberdeau one of the two players on the Panthers list to be called up if the lockout ends? If so & a deal is somehow reached he might not be going back to the CHL after the WJC.

One can only hope this is a possibility.

can't seem to find a college hockey thread. so this is close enough

College Hockey News: Four players removed from Harvard's roster

Four players have been removed from Harvard's official roster and according to a report in The Crimson, some of the removals may be related to an academic scandal that swept the university late this past summer.

Max Everson (Leafs pick), Patrick McNally (Canucks pick) and Mark Luzar were all removed from the Harvard roster last week. Stephen Michalek (Wild pick)left the program in November and is currently playing for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the United States Hockey League.

He was indeed. It's also been mentioned that his suspension begins with the Sea Dogs next game, regardless of other obligations. In other words, it's mostly moot because he's going to be gone a lot longer than 4 games anyway.

fwiw:

Oilers guy Pat Laforge talking about rink plans for #yeg, mentions something about #yyc getting a HUGE new venue.

That's great to hear, the Saddledome has been fun, but the sloping roof has caused many a concert to bypass Calgary. Hopefully, the new arena is in place sooner rather than later.

Edit: Lots of speculation that this could be the much talked about multi-sport entertainment complex. I suppose you could just leave McMahon Stadium to the University of Calgary and build a new stadium for the Stamps (as well as potentially a new MLS soccer team).

For those of you scoring at home, Corrado has scored again today.

/Malcolm Subban is struggling between the pipes though. It's 3-1 University of Alberta Golden Bears.

Edit: 3 goals allowed on 7 shots.

Offense won't be a problem for this team. How has Corrado looked defensively?

:pizza: Thanks julian - I definitely recognize more names on Team Orr than Team Cherry, so based on that in-depth analysis, I'm giving the edge to Team Orr.

No idea who will win but Team Cherry will have home ice advantage. The game is being played in Halifax and they have 3 Mooseheads on Team Cherry while Team Orr had 3 Quebec Remparts (a bit of a rivalry there), and the rest of the Q guys are divided up. Coincidence?

Team Cherry will actually be coached by their namesake as well.

Edit - Team Cherry will have Stephen Harper playing for them. Maybe the crowd won't be cheering for them afterall.

Kelowna beats Lethbridge 3-1 tonight (nationally televised game on Sportsnet between two pretty good teams and Lethbridge can't even draw 3,000 fans).

/Well, they've never been a very good hockey town.
