Tigers with back-to-back shootout wins on the weekend - For as inconsistent as they have been this season, they're still in the playoff hunt (thanks to a very weak Eastern Division).

Giants update - 6 straight losses now, including a heartbreaker (GWG with 6 seconds left)
they have missed a huge opportunity to build their local fanbase this year.

Just the cycle of junior hockey (they have some very good 16 year olds waiting in the wings to join the big club). They're paying the price this season, but they'll be good again next season.

puck, more Giants hockey on Shaw tonight (they've taken the ferry to Victoria and are leading the Royals 3-0 early in the 2nd period).

glad to hear that they have finally remembered that the Royals are just the Chiefs in different sweaters :D

Giants restore their 3rd goal lead (Royals goalie lost his net on that one).

Royals get a late one to make it 4-2 after 40 minutes - Shaping up to be an interesting 3rd period.

Okay, the East Division in the Dub is craptacular - The PA Raiders are the only team above .500 (probably from beating up on the weak sisters in their division)

Bang bang and it's 6-2 Giants - Then there's a big hit on a Giants player and all h-e-double hockey sticks breaks loose.

watching the Giants game this morning - they had a little segment on the Royals missing Tyler Stahl on defense.
they have a little video of what he brings to the game, and the montage consists of three consecutive headshots.
"you can't replace that toughness" :L

Payton Lee looking a heck of a lot calmer that earlier in the season

Yeah I know I was mentioning earlier in the year how the US division teams were running roughshod on their trips back East. It's now the Chiefs' turn as they improved to 4-0 so far with a 4-1 win over the Memorial Cup host (lol) Saskatoon Blades yesterday night. Spokane finishes up this weekend against Brandon and Moose Jaw. Spokane hasn't beat the Wheaties in Brandon since 2000, so if there was ever a time to get a win there, tomorrow night is the time to do it. The Chiefs are 21-7-1 so far on the year, good for an HM in the CHL top 10 poll. Not that the poll is significant in any way, but nice to see a little national recognition.

The Chiefs get that rare road win in Brandon with a 5-2 win tonight over the Wheat Kings to improve to 5-0 on the Eastern road trip. Spokane finishes up against Moose Jaw tomorrow night.

Hey, the Tigers won their 3rd straight game via the shootout last night against Lethbridge and it was a goaltender's duel (8-7 final for Medicine Hat). Calgary also beat Edmonton for the 4th straight time this season last night 5-2.

/It never gets old.

Well with Jonathan Huberdeau heading to Team Canada's camp tomorrow he most likely played his last game as a Sea Dog. Most figure if the lockout continues beyond the World Juniors that he'll likely be traded to a Memorial Cup contender for a pile of future assets to help the Sea Dogs' rebuild. If it was his last game, he sure went out with a bang but not the way one would have expected.

3 - SNB Jonathan Huberdeau, 15:38 - High-sticking, (1.26) (PP)
3 - SNB Jonathan Huberdeau, 15:38 - Instigator, (1.4)
3 - SNB Jonathan Huberdeau, 15:38 - Fighting, (2.2)
3 - SNB Jonathan Huberdeau, 15:38 - Instigator - Misconduct, (3.4)
3 - SNB Jonathan Huberdeau, 15:38 - Abuse of officials - Game Misconduct, (4.91)
3 - SNB Jonathan Huberdeau, 15:38 - Fight in the final 5 minutes of regulation time, or anytime of the overtime - Game Misconduct, (4.2)

The craziness starts at about 3:16. He also had a nice short-handed assist starting at about 2:35.

On another note, this Mooseheads team reminds me a lot of the Sea Dogs from the past few seasons. Score should have been much worse. It will all depend on what happens during the trading period and who gets Huberdeau. I don't think Halifax needs Huberdeau but I don't think they can afford to let him go to another contender. He may have burnt his bridge with them. He played with MacKinnon and Drouin at the Subway Series and they played well but he has now fought 2 Moosehead players this season as well. It will be interesting to see what happens.

/300.

Blazer roll the Giants 4-1 as expected.
G-men held tough for 2 periods, but Blazers scores a couple within 13 seconds on a 5 on 3 to put it away in the 3rd.
Hope the first overall draft pick is good next summer :noidea:
