Just wanted to resurrect this one to point out that the Tigers are now 6th in the Eastern Conference after putting a nice little win streak together. Shinkaruk is having a good season (i.e. should go in the top-10 of the NHL entry draft), but undrafted Curtis Valk actually leads the Tigers in goal-scoring this season. The 20 year old is definitely in the Tyler Ennis mode, but I think somebody will snatch him up this year.

Valk got some good P.R. on NHL network last week. Word is he could go anywhere from the 4th to 7th round.

15 games it is. That will keep him out until game 4 of the playoffs.

The Chiefs have continued to go hot and cold. Wins of 5-2 and 5-0 over Tri-City and Kelowna a couple weeks ago, then they got blasted 6-0 and 8-3 by Tri-City and Portland last weekend and now they beat Edmonton 6-4 yesterday and they're up 2-0 over Kamloops in the third period tonight. The Chiefs have the talent this year, but you just don't know which Chiefs team is going to show up. Hopefully they can find some consistency once the playoffs start because this team is better than their record, at least that's what I believe.

Man oh man, Edmonton allows 6 to Spokane last night and gets hammered 8-1 tonight by Tri-Cities. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Lets go WHL or OHL teams! Please beat whatever Q team makes the Memorial Cup, esepcially if it's Halifax or Moncton!

It probably should be pointed out that the Saskatoon Blades (who are hosting the Memorial Cup this year) are currently on a 15-game winning streak.

Glad to see them quit embarrassing themselves. Still don't think they have what it takes to win the league or Memorial Cup though.

FWIW, the Q champion has never won the Memorial Cup when it's been hosted in a WHL city.

Tigers hold on for a 5-4 win over Red Deer and are now 8-2 in their last 10 games.

Tigers continue to play well, even though they lost a couple of close games to Kootenay (who along with Saskatoon have been the hottest teams in the league). They beat Calgary 5-2 yesterday and have pretty much locked up a playoff spot.

Wtih Grigorenko sent back to juniors that definitely makes things a bit more interesting in the Q. The Mooseheads were favoured all season long but have been heavy favourites since the trade deadline which was shorlty after the lockout ended and Grigorenko left the Remparts, Matteau left the Armada, and Huberdeau was no longer the most coveted trade bait in the CHL. Quebec was still a pretty good team even after losing Grigorenko. If this doesn't put them on par with the Mooseheads or better, it certainly narrows the gap. As much as I'm not a Remparts/Roy fan I hope a team from Quebec actually wins the Q this year for the 1st time in 4 years.

The Q just got more interesting again. The Devils sent Stefan Matteau back to the Blainville-Broisband Armada.

Tigers make the playoffs finishing 7th in the Eastern Conference and face Saskatoon in the opening round. It's going to be tough for the Tigers to advance, but I'm actually quite happy they even made the playoffs this season.

3rd year in a row the Sea Dogs are going to take part in a 1 vs 16 slaughter. This will be the 1st time they are on the wrong end of it though as they will be taking on the Mooseheads. Not going to be pretty at all. :L
