Please go back and find the post where I said anything about how you felt about Pelini. The game was close because both teams faced some adversity going into the game and both played a hell of a football game.

USC came out and jumped on the 'Huskers early. The Huskers could have easily packed it in, used the "interim coach" excuse and let USC blow them out. Instead, they stepped up, played with pride and made a fantastic comeback.

When the Huskers were making their comeback, USC could have folded and used the "depleted roster" excuse. Instead, they stepped up and made a couple of plays at the end of the game that saved the game for them.

Personally, I enjoyed a great football game between 2 great programs. I'm sorry you missed it.

That was not a hell of a football game :L

That was no defense ugly shit.

If that's how far your expectations have fallen, then you'll be fine under Sark.

Not sure I get it either TJ12.

You kicked our ass.

We are just trying to get better. Everybody sees us as a has been. I'm fine with that..., its true.

Different feel this time though. I like this feel.
We'll be different, but I sense actually good. Haven't had that kind of feel since 1986 when we were kinda/good.

The thread was about the lie. The scholarship excuses were brought in by you and became the crux.

You have disproven nothing. Nebraska signed 89 players from 2011 - 2014, USC signed 84. Every USC class was rated much higher than the Nebraska classes. Nebraska was playing with an interim head coach.

Are you saying that info is false?

I'm becoming suspicious USC may be in big trouble under Sark.

I'm becoming suspicious that our 53 players were better than your 85.

Why? Aren't you a member of MENSA? I do believe you said that at on time.
Really? In what else do you believe? (I'll save you some trouble - I have never, and would never, claim to be a member of Mensa.)

To be fair to your Huskers. We kicked your ass for about half the game, then you kicked ours for the other half of the game but ran out of time. If you guys had gotten 1 more offensive series, I think you'd have won.

I understand your point about the "feel." I had the same one when we got Pete Carroll, especially after a couple of seasons under Paul "Can't" Hackett. Things seem more positive at Nebraska than they did under Pelini.

Now all USC needs is a fucking coach that can crush a bunch of mid-major 3 stars (and their interim coach) with their two deep 4 and 5 stars.

amirite?

The rankings are correct, the numbers, not so much. I noticed you included the 2011 class. The schollie reductions were 3 years. 2012, 13 and 14. I think that's what has skewed your numbers. The bowl ban was for 2 years (2010 and 2011). Then the schollie reductions for the next 3 years.

This year, 2015, is the first time we've been able to bring in a full class of 25 since 2011.

Yes but the 2011 class would have been part of the 2014 roster. Get it?

So trojanfan...Serious question

How many players from the 2011 class made it to the 2014 squad?

They would have been R/S juniors or seniors.

Does USC redshirt?

It doesn't matter. That was the last class of 25. Your numbers are wrong because you used a non-scholarship reduction year which artificially inflated your results. Was that an oversight? Or did you lie? Perhaps I should start a thread about you. :heh:

Additionally, players who were recruited in 2011 would be eligible to go to the NFL following the 2013 season. So, most of the NFL caliber talent from the 2011 class would have gone to the NFL after the 2013 season.

The only way a player who was recruited in the 2011 class would still be on the roster last year is if he stayed all four years. I believe that Josh Shaw was the only NFL caliber player who stayed.

Does USC redshirt?

Off the top of my head, Josh Shaw is the only NFL caliber player from that class that stayed until 2014 that I can think of. We did lose several players from that 2011 class after the 2013 season. Most significantly, Marqise Lee.

As for redshirting, USC does redshirt, but not as much as other programs do and even less during the schollie reductions. We didn't have the numbers coming in, so generally the only way a kid would have been redshirted would be if he suffered a significant injury or just was absolutely not ready.
