Also need to take the espn effect into account: sec teams tent to be ranked way higher than they desrrve due to the hype machine. In the poll that actually matters: 2 highest 1 loss teams in sec, 2nd and 3rd highest 2 loss teams...sec, 2nd highest 3 loss team...sec, top 2 4 loss teams of only 3......you guessed it, sec. And fsu has played a lot more than 1 top 30 team, but way to cherry pick the marginally relevant saggarrin poll, and I didnt eben check his multi tweaked poll, or if you even used the correct indicator, but multi tweaks mid season renders his poll suspicious at best

Then find one that shows fsu played a somewhat less than easy schedule. They did not play a LOT more than 1 top 30 team. My point stands and crying about espn bias is irrelevant.

I suspect that might really pose a dilemma to 'Bama fans about which team to root for.

I've seen a couple that would like the Crystal Ball to stay in-state and I can understand that way of thinking. I, however, am not really on that bandwagon.

As mentioned, Auburn runs on any team....and that's a good thing. Winston is another matter and if he has a good day, FSU has a good day.

Using the only poll that matters, off the top of my head FSU has played 200% more top 30 teams than you have listed. perhaps you can dig up Billy Joe Bobs top 30 poll for your next post. But alas, perhaps that mighty sec sos will overcome FSUs 3rd ranked tot D v auburns 88th, or FSUs 14th ranked pass O v auburns 102nd, or FSUs 1st ranked scoring D v auburns 38th, or FSUs 14th ranked rush D v auburns 64th, or FSUs 1st ranked pass D v auburns 104th. That 8th ranked passing O being on the field with that 104th pass D should be fun.

The only reason I don't bet a ton on this game is because of the army of guardian angels on Auburn sideline.

yea, I know the rankings from ncaa.com. don't get me wrong, i'm not saying that auburn is clearly better or even the same as FSU based on some SoS adjustment. just that it isn't a straight comparison of X vs. Y.

I realize Auburn/SEC fans are praying for a miracle in the BCSNCG, but you guys need to top drinking for moment. There is no way that Auburn will beat FSU. This game will not even be close.

and in terms of the computers, his statement still holds water. i love all these people who act like the only source we use for determining ranked teams have all this ESPN hype behind it. is espn programming the computers too?

the SEC is where they are because of the results on the field. florida state might be the best team in the country, but any notion that auburn hasn't played a far, far, far tougher schedule is laughable.

Damn shame the way the post season works. We never get the top two teams at their best for the BCS Title Game.

you do realize that if the best team doesn't come from the SEC, that doesn't mean the SEC is automatically overrated? what happens if the SEC goes 9-1 in bowl games (auburn loses), and finishes with 8 teams in the top 25? overrated conference? hardly.

I could care less what the other SEC teams do only two things matter:

1. That Auburn wins.
2. That the SEC keeps it's TV ratings up and delivers checks to Auburn.

Everything else is irrelevant.

Statistically Auburns defense is terrible. But Ive noticed all season that when they have to have a stop they get it. They were so many times in the Iron bowl where We were down on their side of the field and they either stopped us on 4th down or made us kick field goals.(which we missed). But FSU offense is better than bamas so we will see if they can do it against FSU.
