I'm willing to give him a shot. I think a lot of the Phillies pitching problems were due to personnel and a HC going by his notebook to a T regardless of how a game is flowing.

If just a couple of our pitchers can throw strikes consistently, it's better than what we had, and we're a better team. We lead the league in walks last season by a wide margin, and we still won the East fairly comfortably. Cut that number down and it probably means a few more wins.

I don't know if the numbers are still true, but at one point in September the two best batting averages allowed for an Atlanta Braves starter belonged to Folty and wait for it.... Julio Teheran in 2018. Pretty much all the damage off of them was done via walks and homers. That tells me the stuff is good, but stuff can be fixed mechanically, and hopefully the new guy can do. And as much as I don't care for the McCann signing, from all reports, he still does great work with pitchers, so that may help as well.

The Winter Meetings are going on now, so I take any rumors with a grain of salt. Acuna and Freddie are the only two players that AA won't listen on, but moving a key piece already on the MLB roster isn't likely unless it's a deal we can't refuse.

And I know it's gonna break your hearts, because it broke mine, but Rio Ruiz is now an Oriole and Danny Santana is now a Ranger.

My wish list:
Brantley in FA and either Mad Bum, Kluber, or Bauer in trade.

Settle for: Happ or Keuchel and bring back Nick Markakis on a 1-2 year deal. Maybe Carlos Gonzales on a 1 year deal with platoon partners in RF.

Hopefully none of these guys signed today while I was "working".

Justin Bour is now an Angel. This is great news. We don't play the Angels this year. Hopefully he doesn't get traded to a team will face and hopefully it won't be the Angels we face in the World Series.

We've added Donaldson, and if he's anything close to what he was pre injury, that's far from standing pat. We're gonna make another deal or two. You know how it is. AA is pretty sneaky, and he'll pull off something that there wasn't even a rumor about before it happens like with Gausman last year.

I hope so. The NL East looks like its gonna be the best division in baseball. 4 legit playoff contenders.

NL Central looks like it's gonna be a dogfight too with the trade the Reds just made.

Cubs, Cards, Brewers and Reds could all be playoff contenders.

We're gonna make another move or two, but if Acuna, Albies, Dansby, Camargo and the young pitchers don't take steps forward like they're projected to, it'll hurt worse than any move not made.
