James would be an idiot to go to any team in the West.
He's not stupid.
His best path to championships right now is to stay put and hope the Spurs lose before the Finals.

I'm still not convinced the Clippers wouldn't trade Griffin, but I don't think we'll ever find out.

Or you make it out of the West and have a cakewalk in the Finals against the East

Unlikely IMO. There are too many contracts to shed to open up the cap space. Riles isn't interested in a S&T based around Jordan/Crawford. The Clippers aren't trading Griffin. I just don't see it unless he signs for much less than his value.

Clippers have salary they can unload on a team with cap room of actually players that teams would want like Deandre Jordan for about 11 million and JJ for about 6 million. I'm sure there are several teams with cap room that would make a trade with the clippers to clear cap.

I quoted your post, not some talking head.
So what?

My reply said Lakers fans. I addressed the words in the post, not you directly.

You're the one who threw the house hunting in LA scenario out there.
Now all of the sudden it's that far fetched IYO?

Then why mention it at all?

Your intent was to somehow make Heat fans nervous about the situation,
when truth be told, as I pointed out, is that Lakers fans should be equally or more nervous IF
hes house hunting in LA, as YOU suggested.

I didn't introduce that scenario Einstein, it was already out there and linked on the rumors thread.

http://nationalreport.net/lebron-james-coming-la/

Additionally, you tried some smartass retort to something posted by a Lakers fan to try and calm your rattled nerves and as usual, it didn't work.

Lakers fans aren't nervous about anything the Clippers do. If Lebron goes to the Clippers, good for them. The Lakers will continue to work on the Lakers and getting themselves back in title contention. As we have seen for 2 of the past 4 years, having Lebron on your team doesn't guarantee any titles, just a good shot at one. In the West, it doesn't even guarantee that the team gets past the 2nd round.

Yahoo Sports reported yesterday that Lebron finds the Clippers intriguing. Wow, Lebron did everything but come out and say it, he wants to be a Clipper. Lebron wants to play with legit superstars and legit coach and Miami offers none of that. Lebron is making the right move, the Clippers are the future of the NBA.

Wont happen. Clippers said they wouldn't trade Blake. Only other trade idea for clippers would to trade,
Jordan, Barns, and Crawford and 1st rd pick for LBJ. I don't think Miami takes it. Miami would want CP3 or Blake.

LBJ wants JJ. He needs shooters.

It wasn't smartass at all. Your reaching.
If he leaves, he leaves. I pointed out REALITY.
I've recently sat through a 15 win season, I lived, so please don't ASSume I'm rattled.

If Lebron goes to the Clippers, good for them. The Lakers will continue to work on the Lakers and getting themselves back in title contention.

If James joins the Clippers, all you guys will have to talk about for quite some time is your previous history.
The Clippers would own L.A., as far as current NBA relevance and where players would desire to play until he leaves.

True. So think about that, and then think about how far away your team is from being close to contending.
If he goes West, your just that much further away....but don't worry....he's not that dumb.

The Clippers have indicated that Griffin is "untouchable". Does that mean that if the only way to get Lebron is to trade Griffin they will cave in and do it? Who knows? There are almost as many reasons not to do it as there are to do it. I'd imagine that it depends on how strongly they feel about Griffin being able to make them true contenders.

As of now though, their stance is that they won't trade him.

I agree that Lebron would be crazy to go to a team in the West right now. About the only team that he could go to where he could be virtually guaranteed more titles is San Antonio and that's only for another season or so (although with their ability to re-tool their roster on the fly, maybe not).

One big problem for the Heat is they have no assets to work with. A bare cupboard is nice when looking at big time free agents (there's not too many this year), but a handicap when trying to wheel and deal.

Currently, they have very few assets that could be used in a potential deal:
Norris Cole, Justin Hamilton, and the 26th pick. Then they have this years 2nd rounder and a 2nd rounder next year (next years 1st rounder goes to Cavs from the LeBron sign and trade).

If it truly came down it, of course the Clippers would trade Griffin to get LeBron.

The reason they won't, though, is because LeBron would have no interest in going to the Clippers without Griffin.

You want to tell me not to assume that you're worried about Lebron leaving, yet you want to assume that I and other Lakers fans are worried about what the Clippers do.

As for how far the Lakers are from contending. Who really knows? It depends on what they can do in the next couple of off-seasons or so. The last time they went through a re-build, it took them 3 seasons. I have no problem with it, if it takes that long or even 4 years.

As for the Clippers "owning L.A.", they may want to try hanging something other than a couple of Pacific Division Champions banners and some selfies first.

This is very flawed logic.

I know that a lot of people believe this, but just because the competition is better in the West, that does not necessarily mean a more difficult title run.

All that needs to happen is for D. Rose to get healthy and the Bulls to sign a competent wing scorer. They would be a very tough out for a re-vamped Miami team. If either the Pacers get their acts together or a team like the Wizards makes further improvement, then you could have two very tough series before getting to the Finals.

The best way for LeBron to win more titles is to make sure he is on the best team, not that he has the easiest path to the Finals. If a Western Conference team like Houston or LAC creates a better opportunity, then LeBron would have a better chance to win there. End of story.

The East could actually present a tougher road if the Heat get physically beaten on by the Pacers and Bulls before advancing to play their toughest foes.

They would need to trade more player than just those two. It wouldn't be as easy as you think.

I agree the East vs West thing is way overvalued.

Swings can happen pretty fast. Don't expect an imbalance one season to persist at the same imbalance for the next 3-4 seasons.

As an overall basketball fan, I advise you to not get tied up into all of the rumors that will float around. I remember in 2010, there was a strong rumor that Wade was going to sign with the Bulls; my heart sank hearing that.

The Clippers would be a better team if they traded Griffin for LeBron, than if they traded their role players.

DeAndre Jordan is pretty important and a better fit with LeBron than Blake is.

They don't have to trade with Miami to free cap space.
