Funny you got two actors who played DC characters who are switching to Marvel

Yeah, at this point, there have been enough superhero movies and TV shows that almost every new one has a recast of someone from an earlier superhero movie or TV show. Just earlier this year, Morbius (Marvel) was played by Jared Leto, who previously played Joker (DC).

Saw Thor 4 on first showing on opening day.

So mediocre. Worst MCU movie in a decade (since Iron Man 3, which I hate more because of the stupid Mandarin twist).

Taika Waititi is out of control and needs to be reined in. His previous Thor 3: Ragnarok was okay, but this movie has all the worst parts of that movie magnified. Gorr the God Butcher is wasted; his story was dark, complex, and epic in the comics, but in this movie, the only "butchering" (since he kills, what, one single god onscreen in the entire movie, with all other kills offscreen? so much for living up to his name) in the movie is what Taika Waititi does to Gorr's story. The source material is dark and epic, and Jane's story is supposed to be somber and sad, but it's impossible to take anything seriously because there's a joke every two minutes and the overall tone is overly comical.

Well thats wrong.

Was it pretty average? Yes. But worst in a decade?? It was better than Strange and the Eternals by a long shot and those just came out before it haha.

It needed way more Bale though. The rare movie that needed to be longer.

This is pretty much my expectation going in. Seeing Jane in the Thor garb just looks SOOOOO stupid.

I will see it, but I am not really looking forward to it.

Eh, I disagree. I loved Eternals. I thought Multiverse of Madness had serious problems, but it was still a lot of fun. Thor 4, though, I didn't even enjoy.

The humor was very hit n miss. They took some liberties after the success of Ragnarok. Decent, overall, but maybe a victim of the previous movie’s success and popularity.

The midcredits scene was already spoiled for me. On a general news page, there was a link with the character and actor spoiled in it. Opening weekend- what were they thinking posting that. Many were pissed.

I give it an 8.

Thor did feel more like a Phase 2 film than Phase 1 or 3 but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. They’re planting the seeds for something bigger but I don’t necessarily need every movie now to be “OMG this is the hypest and most important movie at this point in time you better see it before the next one comes out!!!!!!!!”. If every movie is a 10 than nothing is a 10.

I like that they’re running multiple different story arcs over 1 giant one, it’s a different change of pace from Phase 3. If it never changes then it’ll be a problem but right now it’s refreshing.

That said I do wish it was longer and we got more Bale.

The first 2/3 of the movie was GAWD awful. Almost to the walk-out level. But the final battle was some of the best MCU has put out yet. The action was great, the comedy worked within the story, and it made me OK with Jane Foster as Thor.

Really hard to rate since it 2/3 trash. I guess I will split it…

First 2/3 = 2/10

Final act = 8/10

I guess that kinda makes it a 14/30, but after that final act, it doesn’t seem fair. But the GotG stuff was cringe-worthy (Pratt looked like he didnt want to be there) and the Olympus stuff was almost equally bad (Crow was awful, and that was before his little “prance”)

Middle act was rough but I liked the beginning and end.

Needed more Gorr butchering gods.

He looked horrible in the movie. He has really let himself go. SMH.....
The visuals were bad, AND his portrayal was bad (probably due to directors choices more so due to anything he did: “the prance”)
