Us Agent was one of my favorite characters in Thunderbolts. I'm glad there are more videos like this that side with him taking out one of the terrorist threat in FAWS.
Florence Pugh is great - whole cast is good, except Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s character is still annoying and out-of-place.
It’s a different kind of Marvel movie. Character development more prominent here. The one character that seemed would be prominent but got very little screen time was weird. Didn’t even need to be included for plot purposes.
Bring a character in just to kill her off? I spent the whole movie half waiting for her to somehow return.
And the source of Sentry’s powers was super vague, as was the reason he was able to survive the kill switch. The assistant got no end to her story.
But with all that I still liked it. Good characters. Marvel does therapy.
Just saw this movie. Liked it a lot. But I do want to criticize the tone of the movie.
Superhero movies in general are for kids and nerds/geeks. I didn’t think this movie targeted the superhero fandom. It was way too dark not funny enough, and when using characters from previous movies it didn’t really bring much new to the superhero geeks. Really only sentry. But they didn’t really delve into the character. It was more of a he was so powerful and so depressed.
So I am not sure if this movie accurate targeted anyone. It was “lucky” it was a good movie. As it could have been an epic failure very easily.
Not as good as I was expecting based on the positive reception, but one of the better MCU projects since Endgame.
A few holes that bugged me throughout, though…
1) how did Alexei find the team in the middle of the desert? Not even a throwaway comment like “You forgot about the tracking device in your leg.” or something like that.
2) Where was Dr Strange during these events? He lives in NYC, and he would have been a prime person to fight Sentry.
3) The press conference reveal was WAY too convenient. Serious eye-roll moment.
