this fact this movie was made is the problem with Marvel right now...

Captain america movies are generally a more serious tone than all the rest, so it is always targeted to the more mature Marvel fans...
you have also introduced all these new characters, and you are afraid to use them... so you go back to superheroes that are more established...

Falcon is also not captain america, and never deserved a main character movie...

i just dont get why Marvel was so afraid to jump to the Fantastic 4 and X-men stories.... and afraid to tie them into the main universe....

The surprise is that there has not been a marvel movie in a while... and THIS is the one that opens it up... and we have a bunch of marvel in 2025,2026... I really want to ask marvel WHY?? just WHY??

Sam Wilson first became Captain America in the comics 10 years ago in 2015.

I think this is still a remnant of the pre-fix plan. And they painted themselves into a corner with Falcon and Winter Soldier. They HAD to give Falcon his own movie, and just take the medicine that was bound to come with it.

Calling F&WS anything other than complete crap is a huge gift to Marvel. I had serious trouble getting through it, and that was before it shot itself in the head in the finale.

i mean, you are obviously right that that they just announced it, so it had to happen... but the sad part is that we had a hiatus on Marvel movies, and before this hiatus, we were getting "fatigued".... this is an awful answer to restart the Marvel binge thats about to happen...

but we knew that... it was the fault of the producers for being chicken shit... and constantly going BACK to established characters instead of going forward...

if it was up to me, they would skip this movie.... but of course it is WAY TOO LATE for that....

just wish that they could change the tone, so it could be a mindless fun movie, instead of a lets be serious for a moment...

Tbf, we haven’t seen the movie yet, so we can’t say it didn’t need to happen or it could have happened under a different banner or whatever.

Marvel was hit pretty bad with bad timing. They made some artistic descriptions that didn’t land well, then they forced into a hiatus due to world events so their fans were forced to simmer in that filth for too long. At least Feige recognized the problem and is working to rectify it. He basically scrapped an almost fully complete season of Daredevil because it sucked. That had to cost a pretty penny, not to mention the 2-year delay on the release of the show. There was also the timing of gaining the rights to F4 and X that came about too late to supersede their moving forward with worse ideas (Falcon, primarily, but maybe Thunderbolts* as well).

And the whole Jonathan Majors things didn’t help, either.

That isn’t quite a death sentence…

Some cast announced for Captain America 4: New World Order:

- Ruth Bat-Seraph / Sabra (Shira Haas), making her debut
- Samuel Stearns / Leader (Tim Blake Nelson), returning from The Incredible Hulk
- Joaquin Torres / Falcon (Danny Ramirez), returning from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier
- Isaiah Bradley / black Captain America (Carl Lumbly), returning from The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

Sabra being in the movie is significant as she is a mutant in the comics. Whether she will be one in the MCU remains to be seen.

Variety: Sabra was changed from the mutant Mossad agent she is in the comics to a Black Widow US government agent in this film to try to avoid offending people who are pro-Palestine

But if you look around the Internet, both sides are still angry: pro-Israeli side is angry because Sabra is depowered and no longer Mossad, and pro-Palestinian side is angry because Sabra is still in the movie.

If they needed a female agent to balance out the male main cast of the film, they could have avoided any political controversy by just bringing back Sharon Carter from the earlier Cap movies instead. Plus it would give an update on Sharon's dangling status from FatWS.

It's so pointless to put Sabra in the film when film Sabra is nothing like the comics version, and she's been changed to no longer even tie in to the mutants who will be coming into the MCU.
