Tommy just needs to learn to throw the ball away sometimes is all.

I'm glad he threw that interception in the Illinois game where he hung on to it too long and tried to force one in over the middle of the field.

Hopefully that lingers in his head against Michigan State, because that is a guaranteed interception 100% of the time against any good Defense.

And yes, Cook is good. We must not overlook him. We need to pressure him just like we did Cousins a few years back. If we sit back and play patty cake he is going to pick us apart.

I'm going to add anything new, but I like to make comments.

I have a bad feeling this game. You guys say we've always done well running, well you know that MSU is going to figure out how to stop that at some point. TA scares me every time he throws it. Sometimes he's fantastic, but other times he telegraphs passes worse than junior high QBs. he gets zero'd in on 1 guy and refuses to look elsewhere. oak mentioned it above, we had 3rd a goal and he went to someone on the bottom, meanwhile he had a wide open Westerkamp on the top side.

our D is scaring me too. MSU can run the ball. we've been giving up big run plays and I think we would be giving up more if it wasn't for most teams abandoning the run because our O has been putting up points. MSU will be in this game and won't give up on that run. I don't even want to get into our pass D. it's been mediocre at best, Cook's a good QB and can tear us apart if Bo isn't getting pressure on him.

The difference in this game may very well be their QB is more adept at passing, and yes TA scares me too when he's about to pass the ball!

he's telegraphed 2 interceptions this year and yet he is still telegraphing passes, I don't think he'll stop doing that any time soon.

lol what?

At what point in the Illinois game did we begin to roll with Ameer as a 3rd down back? I am completely confused by this sudden development. In the first half (when Abdullah was actually playing) he carried the ball 20 times and Imani carried the ball 10 times.

Imani is a change-up back right now. Good to bring in as a bruiser, change up the pace. Just when Defenses start to overpursue due to Ameer's ability to make people miss, you bring in the tank and run it right down their throats.

If we run a more one-dimensional back like Imani on 1st down, you essentially give MSU exactly what they're looking for......an opportunity to get you into a 2nd and long situation, and a better opportunity to get you into a 3rd and long situation.

Abdullah only ran two times in the third quarter sir.

Bo pulled him because he had a bruised knee and there was no need to keep playing him.

I am not worried about Mich st at all.
-------
With the exception of their loss to Oregon, MSU has come out of the gate and dominated the first quarter...we haven't done that so yes, I too am worried.

I've felt pretty good about this game all the way up to today. Then it dawned on me how many times in the Pelini era that I felt good about a big game only to not even recognize the Nebraska team on the field. They come out of the locker room completely confused and unprepared. Over coached if you will. I wouldn't be surprised if Ameer only gets 12 carries in this game and Bo/Beck get away from what Nebraska does best by trying to be sneaky.

Michigan St's got great skill players. As a junior, Cook is an outstanding QB throwing 69%. Up from 58% last season and 52% as a freshman. He was 61.7% at Oregon. His target is Lippett who averages 19 yds per catch.
My biggest concern is Langford. He's a power back with enough speed to take it the distance.

If Michigan St is smart they'll throw in a minor offensive wrinkle that Nebraska's defense hasn't prepared for. The over complicated Pelini scheme makes for difficulty in adjustments. Hands in the air looking to the sidelines shit.

Michigan St is a physical team and Nebraska's been soft up front defensively and in pass pro offensively. The O-line quitting in the second half against Illinois was disgusting. It's obvious Ameer has no leadership ability over coaches relatives.

Being a road game just adds to all that.

I give Nebraska about a 5% chance of winning and that would be because Michigan St turns it over about 3 more times than the Huskers.

If Nebraska turns it over more than Sparty then the Huskers will probably lose by 20 or more.

^^^^ Basically everything that is going through my mind.

I've been burned too many times. I'm not going to feel comfortable going into a game like this. The odds are sooooooooo against us to win this game it's ridiculous.

Usually 1 year is all it takes for people to forget the feeling.

Every year for the past 3 seasons I've forgotten and fallen back into the trap the following season.

I'm not gonna jinx the Huskers again like that. I'm approaching this huge ass game with the mindset that we are big time underdogs.....because we are.

If someone put a gun to your head and said, "you have to put all the money in your bank account on this game, if you get it wrong I pull the trigger."

What would you do?

Current line: MSU - 8.5

I just have no faith in this staff to coach at an elite level. To properly evaluate and prepare a team for this magnitude of a game. I lost that faith at the end of 2012. I have no faith in the Strength and Conditioning staff to develop players that can hang up front with a team like Michigan St.

It's easy to drown in the Kool-Aid pitcher when they're beating on nobodies. Eventually reality comes calling and we're reminded that Nebraska is a top tier mid-major at best.
