WBRZ-TV in Baton Rouge is reporting that an unnamed 18-year-old football player was taken by EMS from a summer workout session to a local hospital. An LSU official confirmed that an unidentified player was transported to the hospital at around 6:30 p.m. ET.
Subsequent to that report, Ross Dellenger of the Baton Rouge Advocate, citing two sources, reported that it’s true freshman running back Derrius Guice who was involved in the health incident. Dellenger writes that a school official “declined to reveal the identity of the player or his injury or illness.”
The somewhat encouraging news is that the trip to the hospital may have been precautionary in nature.
Way to go, I just paid him to find you and kick you in the shin. Like hard as bawls.

It didn't have to be this way.
Wednesday, the school released the details of Muschamp’s new contract, revealing that the former Florida head coachwill earn $1.6 million in 2015. If he’s around for Years 2 and 3 of the deals, he would make $1.7 and $1.8 million, respectively.
If he is fired without cause by the Tigers before his three-year deal expires, he would be entitled to a lump sum payment equal to the full value of the remainder of his deal, with that payment due within 30 days of the dismissal. Conversely, he would owe the university $1 million if he leaves prior to the end of the 2015 regular season, including the SEC title game.
The agreement between AU and Muschamp makes the coordinator the highest-paid assistant in college football. Last year, five coordinators made roughly $1.3 million — Virginia Tech DC Bud Foster at $1.369 million; Alabama DC Kirby Smart at $1.355 million; LSU OC Cam Cameron at $1,315,967; former LSU DC John Chavis ($1,312,300); and former Clemson OCChad Morris ($1,301,250).
The good news for Missouri is that one of its best defensive linemen continues to recover from injuries sustained in a car wreck last month. The bad news? He won’t see the field this coming season.
At the SEC media days Wednesday, head coach Gary Pinkel confirmed that Harold Brantley will not be able to play for Mizzou in 2015 because of the injuries he sustained in the accident. The football equation aside, Pinkel stated that his player is “lucky to be alive.”
Brantley, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, sustained a broken tibia, knee ligament damage and multiple fractured ribs in the rollover wreck that happened Father’s Day weekend. Surgery has already been performed on his broken leg, while knee surgery will take place at some point in the next couple of weeks.
Because of academics, Travonte Valentinedidn’t play a down for LSU last season after coming to Baton Rouge as a highly-touted 2014 recruit. And, it appears, Valentine won’t ever play a down for the Tigers in the future, either.
Wednesday, LSU officials confirmed at the SEC Media Days that Valentine is leaving the football program and will transfer. No official reason was given for the decision to leave the team.
However, the New Orleans Times-Picayune writes, “ources close to LSU say Valentine failed multiple drug tests and missed an excessive amount of class time after enrolling last fall.”
Is Muschamp not getting money from Florida? Because if he is, then Auburn is stupid.
auburn stupid? Sounds redundant. Is Muschamp not getting money from Florida? Because if he is, then Auburn is stupid.
While we're on the subject, mine as well post this here too...
Expected to possibly contribute as a true freshman at Texas A&m, Jay Bradford will instead have to contend with a medical issue before he actually sees the field for the Aggies.
According to multiple media outlets, rumors have been swirling throughout the week that Bradford is facing health concerns, with some of the speculation leaning toward it being quite serious. All of the chatter regarding the running back compelled Kevin Sumlin to release a statement through the university that somewhat addresses Bradford’s status.
“Jay Bradford had a medical condition arise this week and due to federal privacy regulations Texas A&M athletics is unable to comment without the consent of the young man or his family,” the head coach stated. “The health and well-being of Jay is our utmost concern and we will do everything we can to assist Jay and his family through this process.”
Three times this offseason, Mark Stoops, an Ohio native, has landed a former high school football from his home state as a transfer. Late last week, that number rose to four.
On Twitter Friday, De’Niro Laster confirmed that he has decided to continue his collegiate playing career at Kentucky. The linebacker made the decision even as he had not taken a visit to Lexington, although that’s taking place this weekend.
It should be noted that UK has not officially acknowledged that Laster is part of Stoops’ football team.
Laster had spent the past two seasons at Minnesota. He took a redshirt as a true freshman in 2013, then played in nine games in 2014. The Cleveland Heights, Ohio, native will be forced to sit out the 2015 season, but will then have two years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2016.
According to the Hattiesburg American, Swain has transferred into the Southern Miss football program. Because the linebacker has already graduated from AU, he will be eligible to play immediately in 2015.
Southern Miss, it should be noted, has yet to officially announce the addition of Swain to its roster.
Swain, a three-star member of AU’s 2011 recruiting class, played in 37 games the past three seasons. He was primarily a special teams player in 2012, then served as a backup linebacker the past two years.
The spring of 2014 for Swain was spent in Gus Malzahn’s doghouse before climbing out in late May.
