15 for '15: College football's fastest players | NFL.com

14. Marlon Humphrey, CB, Alabama
Humphrey is a former five-star recruit who hails from a very athletic family; his dad, Bobby, was a star for Tide and spent several years in the NFL. Marlon Humphrey redshirted last season for the Crimson Tide football team, but is in the mix for playing time in the secondary this fall after a good spring. He is only a few ticks behind teammate Tony Brown when it comes to the hurdles events, and helped Alabama's track team set a school record this year in the 4x400 relay.

11. Tony Brown, DB, Alabama
Brown split his spring between track and football for the Crimson Tide and excelled in both. He is in line to start at corner for the team in the fall. Brown holds the third-fastest 110-meter hurdle time among football players nationally, and fell just short of making it to Eugene for the NCAA championship meet. He holds state records in Texas and is considered to be one of the fastest players for the defending SEC football champions.

seriously, it's like as time to regulated structure gets closer and closer, players around the country get into more and more trouble. Every year.

Kind of like little kids, the later it gets and the closer to the moment when parents say "time for bed", they get louder and into more conflicts with siblings.

Well, checked the LSU board and they are happy it's Jennings because they want Harris at QB.

Contract locks Alabama in for 2019 or 2020 appearance in Cowboys Classic | CollegeFootballTalk

Alabama has started to make neutral-site season openers a bit of a regular feature on its schedules, and that does not appear to be stopping anytime soon. Alabama will open this season in Arlington, Texas against the Wisconsin Badgers. Alabama will return next season to open the new football season against the Pac-12’s USC Trojans. As part of the agreement to play USC in 2016, Alabama has been locked into negotiating exclusively with the Cowboys Classic to return in 2019 or 2020.

Per Al.com, the contract states Alabama must “negotiate exclusively with ESPN in good faith through August 31, 2015 in an effort to schedule a football game between Alabama and a non-conference opponent to be held on August 31, 2019 or September 5, 2020 at the (AT&T) Stadium.” In other words, expect to hear some future Cowboys Classic scheduling rumors involving Alabama and any number of power conference opponents over the next couple of months. The contract also prevents Alabama from scheduling any non-conference games that would block Alabama from playing in the Cowboys Classic in both 2019 and 2020 (scheduling in one season is fine, since Alabama will be locked into the other season).

Alabama also wields some power in the scheduling fo the 2019 or 2020 game, because the contract also states television partner ESPN and Alabama must mutually agree on the opponent. So if ESPN wants to send Ohio State to the game and Alabama doesn’t want to play the Buckeyes, they can say no.

Take your pick for attractive opponents for a future Cowboys Classic opponent for Alabama, because there are plenty that would be fun to pair up with the Crimson Tide. If the Cowboys Classic brings back a previous participant to face Alabama, there are some attractive options including Oklahoma, TCU and Oregon. If we can’t get Alabama and Oregon on the same field any other way, perhaps a Cowboys Classic would have to settle it for us once and for all. A few schools with openings in the first week of the 2019 and/or 2020 seasons include Oregon, Florida State, Penn State, Notre Dame and Louisville. Just saying.

Here are the past and future Cowboys Classic games.
  • 2009: BYU 14, Oklahoma 13
  • 2010: TCU 30, Oregon State 21
  • 2011: LSU 40, Oregon 27
  • 2012: Alabama 41, Michigan 14
  • 2013: LSU 37, TCU 27
  • 2014: Florida State 37, Oklahoma State 31
  • 2015: Alabama vs. Wisconsin
  • 2016: Alabama vs. USC
  • 2017: Michigan vs. Florida
  • 2018: LSU vs. Miami
  • 2019: TBD vs. TBD/Alabama
  • 2020: TBD vs. TBD/Alabama

Two LSU players not enrolled in summer classes | CollegeFootballTalk
A day after LSU saw four football players arrested forone reason or another, there is some less disturbing news to report. Although, it is not exactly great news for the Tigers.

According to Ross Dellenger of The Advocate, who has been rather busy this week with LSU football news the past couple of days, defensive end Arden Key and defensive back Jeremy Cutrer are not enrolled in LSU’s summer classes.

Key was a four-star recruit in LSU’s Class of 2015 out of Atlanta. Rivalsranked Key as the 13th best defensive end in the nation and the 23rd top player overall out of the state of Georgia. Key committed to the LSU program two days before National Signing Day, picking LSU over offers from South Carolina, where he had on two previous occasions been committed.

Cutrer is a JUCO transfer from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. He is still expected to enroll in classes at LSU, but will not be doing so until later in the summer according to The Advocate.

After one tragedy on Father’s Day, there’s some very good news regarding another situation that held the potential for additional tragedy.

Very early Sunday morning, Missouri’sHarold Brantley sustained serious and significant injuries in a one-car accident that also injured a Mizzou women’s basketball player. While Brantley remains hospitalized in the intensive care unit at a Columbia hospital, his medical condition, multiple media outlets are reporting, has been upgraded from serious to good. NCSUs T.J. McCoy transfers to Gators to be closer to ailing dad | CollegeFootballTalk
A member of North Carolina State’s most recent recruiting class, as it turns out, won’t ever play a down for the Wolfpack because of a family situation.

The father of T.J. MCoy, former Florida Gator star Tony McCoy, has been battling leukemia the last four years. Despite the obvious ties to the Gators, and his father’s health issues. the younger McCoy still signed with the Wolfpack coming out of high school in Groveland, Fla., less than an hour and a half from Gainesville.

Its wife mandated, he is afraid of her and she always has a honey do list. He fulfills his contract to her and she lets him have his balls back right before football season. :dhd:
