In its search for offensive line help, Florida has uncovered a very big player from a small school.
Mason Halter, a 6-foot-8, 300-pound two-time FCS All-American left tackle from Fordham, announced on his Instagram account Tuesday that he's transferring to Florida, where he will be eligible immediately as a graduate transfer.
Dawgs247 has confirmed through multiple sources that redshirt freshman quarterback Jacob Park is no longer with the Georgia football team. In his second season with UGA, Park was thought to be a major contender for the Bulldogs' open quarterback job going into the spring, but received far fewer first-team reps than Brice Ramsey or Faton Bauta in any of the team's scrimmages.
While it is yet to be determined where he will go after leaving Athens, the most likely destination will be the junior college level according to those same sources. This news comes on the heels of UGA's decision last week to accept a transfer from former Virginia quarterback Greyson Lambert
One key member in Tennessee’s most recent recruiting class could be in some hot legal trouble.Jauan Jennings, an early enrollee this past spring, is reportedly facing multiple charges stemming from an alleged incident at a graduation party gone wild.
A report from WGNS in Tennessee says Jennings allegedly assaulted a high school student, damaged the alleged victim’s car, and stole various items — a cell phone, jacket and arm brace — from the vehicle before fleeing. Jennings allegedly pushed the victim in the incident hard enough to cause neck and back pain. The formal complaint from the victim also accused Jennings of throwing a rock at his car, which caused damage over $500 according to the police charges on record.
Head coach Butch Jones has not commented on this situation at this time, although an official from Tennessee’s athletics office has said the university and program are aware of the situation and monitoring it closely. As such, there has been no decision made regarding his status with the team, not publicly at least.
Damn - I was afraid the story was going to say he crashed a flying car into a Whomping Willow.
Sources inform 247Sports that Garrett will opt to enroll at a junior college, not yet determined, and continue his football career. Garrett has already departed and has no plans of returning.
The 6-foot-2, 228-pounder was the No. 28 overall player in the 2014 class, according to the 247Sports Composite. He was ranked as the No. 2 outside linebacker in the 2014 class and the top player in Illinois.
